I wonder who the knucklehead was that voted him 7th.
I remember all the good times me 'n Miller enjoyed
Up and down the M1 in some luminous yo-yo toy
But the future has to change - and to change I've got to destroy
Oh look out Lennon here I come - land ahoy-hoy-hoy

A Chicago writer voted him 1st and 7th.

I won't say I'm glad that he got it, but he had a better case than Ryan Howard.

Manny in 4th for NL MVP (with more votes than Berkman)?

Just consider that JdJO has a vote.  These results always make more sense when viewed through such a prism.

Pujols said there was still a slight chance he might need Tommy John reconstructive elbow surgery.

"I'm crossing my fingers," he said.

Under Albert's standards, I would have given serious thought to voting for CC.

c'mon, Most Voluptuous Player is sitting on a tee and you wimp out with "Most Fattest"?

edit: further research at m-w.com shows me that the origin is from the Latin for "pleasure", not the simple "curvy" that I had associated with it.  I will now resume my previous 4 days of throwing up.

I was just about the post the same thing.  So Mr. Pujols, when should we expect the return shipment of that MVP award?

Manny's team made the playoffs and Lance's didn't, which according to the winner Poo-holes, should be the main consideration... hey... wait a second.

Agreed. The Dojers were dead in the water until his Manny-ness showed up. His hot bat combined with a total collapse of the Snakes got the club into the playoffs.

The Dodgers went 30-24 after Manny arrived.  He really caried them, huh?

Without his bat, that lineup wouldn't have played .500 ball at all. The dude hit .396 with 17 homers and 53 RBI's with them. I wrote that his hot bat combined with the Snakes collapse got them in--not just Manny.

It wasn't directed at you, just a general point about the media overglorifying the way the Dodgers backed into the playoffs.

I know that. I agree with you that the Dodgers were lucky fucks to be in such a putrid division.

I think that boot's been on the Astros' foot before, so be careful when pulling on that petard.

It doesn't count when it is us. When it is us, the division was "competitive."

And as I recall, nobody then was suggesting that Biggio or Bagwell deserved the MVP for carrying the team to the title.  Despite the fact that both had a legitimate claim to it that year.

I was. Exhibit A:
