Rockets
« on: October 30, 2008, 01:44:38 pm »
InDemand is showing NBA games for free until Nov 1st, so you can watch the Rockets even if you don't live in Houston.  I flipped back and forth between them and the World Series last night.

Bill Worrell and Clyde Drexler are horrible announcers, I wish they would bring back Matt Bullard.  But the actual team looks decent.  If they made their baskets, they would have killed the Grizzlies last night.  I'm looking forward to the Rockets going deep into the playoffs this year.

As long as Bill "that play there, that play right there" Worrell stays away from baseball I will be a happy man.

Actually, Worrell is a decent basketball guy.  Drexler is the problem.  And I like Clyde Drexler...he's just not a good announcer.  Agree that Bullard would be preferable.
The rules of distinction were thrown out with the baseball cap.  It does not lend itself to protocol.  It is found today on youth in homes, classrooms, even in fine restaurants.  Regardless of its other consequences, this is a breach against civility.  A civilized man should avoid this mania.

He was not a very good college coach either for that matter.

As a coach, Drexler had the same problem as a lot of great players do...he assumed that all of his players had the ability/desire/work ethic that he did, and when he discovered they didn't, just said "ah fuck it".

Mr. Williams... Mr. Ted Willaims, please pick up the white courtesy phone...

Ted picked up the phone but cannot find his head.

Sure but what was Isiah Thomas' excuse?

Drexler is HORRIBLE as a color guy.....on top of not contributing any sort of basketball knowledge at all throughout the game, his little anecdotes are not the least bit entertaining.   Worrell is alright.   I find Worrell's obvious bias on clear calls for opponents to be pretty funny.

Rockets looked alright defensively last night although i'm not so sure that would have been the case against a better team.  They looked horrible offensively though...completely out of sync at times.    I think they'll be pretty good after 10, 15 games or so, but i think they are gonna get their ass kicked tonight in Dallas

Ummm...isn't making baskets, or not as the case may be, the point?

Weaving the netting out of the finest dwarven beard-hair is the point.

But my point was they played good defense, got some open shots but didn't often hit them.

My favorite Drexler-ism is "nothing but net!".

Shit...i need to be wrong more often.   The real unfortunate thing is i lost $20 on that game

They looked great down the strech last night w/ TMac riding the bench.   Good things coming.   But what the fuck is up with the 2010 NBA All-Star game being in the Cowboys stadium.  Some the majority of those seats are going to be horrible to watch a basketball game from

The majority of people at that All-Star game aren't watching the game anyway, so that doesn't matter.
