I think I liked The Verdict best, but it was close.

Too many good ones to single any out. Some of my favorites: Cool Hand Luke, The Hustler, Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, The Sting, Slapshot.

I feel in love with the man because of Cat on a Hot Tin Roof.  Love that movie.

I loved Paul Newman. He was the coolest cat to ever grace the silver screen. He and Steve McQueen were my favorite actors when I was growing up (Jack Nicholson sorta filled the gap McQueen left). Newman was iconic in every sense of the word. He could handle and excel at every genre. So many good movies. Cool Hand Luke is my favorite off all his movies, it's just one of my favorite movies period.

I can't even pick a favorite.  There are too many good ones too choose from.
Crazy Joe McCluskey was fucking nuts.  It's why they called him Crazy Joe.

No kidding.  While it is difficult not to think of him as Hud Bannon, Brick Pollitt, Butch Cassidy, Fast Eddie or the egg-eating, uncageable Luke, he did some unforgettable work later in his career, too; The Verdict, Nobody's Fool, Road to Perdition and even Cars.

My dad actually met him (and Joanne) once at The Met, managing to hold his attention for more than a minute by talking about racing instead of acting.  My mom was stunned that my dad had managed to overturn the "guarded recluse" template.

God damn cancer.

My uncle once occupied an adjacent urinal to Newman.  My uncle's only remark was how short in stature (no comment on his equipment) Newman was.

Almost all actors are tiny.  They look better on the big screen and no one notices as long as they are amongst actors of similar size.  Ahnuld looked like a giant on screen, and he's less than 6' tall.

Bruce Willis is a runt on par with Alan Ladd.

We saw Rob Lowe at On The Border on Knox Street pre-Atlanta home movie days; a wisp of a man.  He was the closest thing to a male impersonator we'd ever seen, outside the French Quarter, of course.  A buddy of mine tried to get the manager to take him a booster seat.

Slap Shot is amazing.

It kills me how many people my age and younger have never seen SS.

I saw the governator in the Tokyo airport once.  I am just over 6' tall and he was a good 2 - 3 inches shorter than I am.
Always ready to go to a game.

Great scene.

Also, Mo Wanchuck was an early role model for me.

His running analysis of soap operas was truly unforgettable.

He was great in The Untouchables, too.
