Left oblique for Wandy this week.  LINK
In the end, my dissolution with the game of baseball will not be a result of any loss of love for the game, rather from the realization that I can no longer bear the anger its supposed stewards cause to be built up in my soul. -Lee (01/08/2013)

JD and Brownie said it was reported as the left one this time, but they assumed it was in error.

Why not move Wolf up to today to start on normal rest?  Was (at least) a day and a half's notice not enough for Wolf to get ready?

Moving Wolf up from Tuesday to Monday would also mean Wolf would get an extra start on the season's final day.  However, I'm sure Wolf and others sans Oswalt appreciate getting an extra day's rest this time of year.

I don't think this came into play at all, but the big elephant in the room is that Wolf has 500,000 reasons to get a chance at 200IP.  Wolf needs to average 8.25 IP per start to get there on 4 starts and 6.6 IP per start to get there on 5 starts.

I read it where he will receive $250K bills if he reaches 190 IP, and an additional $250K for a mere 10 more innings, plus $175K for his next start (#30).

No wonder he went 9 last time, money is a good motivator.

Sure would be nice for him to get a shot at that money in a one-game tiebreaker.
I believe there ought to be a constitutional amendment outlawing AstroTurf and the designated hitter. I believe in the sweet spot, soft-core pornography, opening your presents Christmas morning rather than Christmas Eve and I believe in long, slow, deep, torture of Bud Selig.

It's not a bulldozer, but it just might do.

Got it from here, but it can be read either way, so you may be right:

"# performance bonuses:

    * $0.175M each for starts 11-30
    * $0.25M for 190 IP, $0.5M for 200 IP
"

Wolf needs 6.1 IP tonight for $250K.   Keep you eyes on Drayton after the Top of the 6th.

So Wolf would be in line to start #162, if it need be played on Monday.  Assuming he doesn't go past six tonight, would Hurricane insurance cover the $250K that Ike cost him?

You won't be able to see him.  That's traditionally when Bud calls, ordering him to bend over and grab his ankles.

If 162 is played, it'll probably be Roy

"(he'll) likely try to go again on short rest Monday if that game is needed to help decide the wild card.
“I don’t know for sure we’re going on it,” Oswalt said. “It all depends on the first two days (of the Reds series). We’ll play it by ear the next two days.”

Is he helping him over the fence or just with the adjustment of his truss?

Congrats to Randy on earning that 250K with 190 1/3 IP.  He definitely earned it.  6-2, 3.57 ERA with the Stros.  Houston went 10-2 in his 12 starts.
