Billly Packer out, Clark Kellogg in.
« on: July 14, 2008, 12:43:49 pm »
I was wondering if at some point Jay Bilas might be Packer's replacement, or perhaps Len Elmore.  Clark is a super guy; it's a great opportunity, and I think the media and audience will be forgiving....initially.  Lot of pressure on him, but having UofH boy at his side will help him a lot, I would think.

I believe there ought to be a constitutional amendment outlawing AstroTurf and the designated hitter. I believe in the sweet spot, soft-core pornography, opening your presents Christmas morning rather than Christmas Eve and I believe in long, slow, deep, torture of Bud Selig.

That's hardly scratching the surface, too.

Good riddance to Packer.
Today seems like a good day to burn a bridge or two

I thought Gus Johnson was really really good on the CBS Elite XC MMA card last month-- surprisingly so.  I expected screaming hyperbole during knockouts and submissions and such, but he was actually very refined, professional, candid, and informed.  I gained a lot of respect for him.

I'm not a fan of Gus Johnson. I find his exaggerated style to be way too distracting. He needs to bring it down a notch.

Of course, maybe I'm just associating bad memories of the David Carr Era with Gus Johnson's voice.

I hear ya.  He's definitely not for everyone, but he's certainly a change of pace from the usual "Don't I sound important?" types the networks employ.  Besides that, he certainly gets caught up in the magnitude of what he's covering, even if the game is not of any significant magnitude.

I'll bet he and his wife (or just he) wake the neighbors, if they resume copulation exercises after prolonged cessation of said actions.
