He and Oswalt were both dealing.  Thankfully, Oswalt dealt better.  It ranks up there as one of the best games I've seen.  It is also probably one of the reason's I've always liked Sheets.

Got a 1-1 fastball and was about an hour late swinging at it. What the hell is he doing looking for breaking balls before there are 2 strikes on him?

berkman high pop - slams bat down in disgust, everyone holds breath as braun feels for scoreboard, makes catch about 5 feet in front of it on the warning track.

miggy hit a deep drive to right that looked like it might get the foul pole, comes down in the very tight foul ground and hart catches it standing in the corner.

Berkman's was a very high popup to about 5 feet in front of the wall. he knew immediately it was an out. do not remember Tejada.

So... ahum... this stuff about coming home to be able to take advantage of the schedule and all... it's not working.  When you're playing mediocre, it really doesn't matter who the opponent is and where you're playing.

saying mediocre is being very kind.

Handing them a run by not doing something as basic as hitting the cutoff, that's little league.

the throw was perfect. Q did not tell Wiggy to cut it, apparently.

it did look like counsell was coming home on that play, maybe Q was just getting in position to receive the ball and make a play before counsell hit the brakes and scrambled back to 3rd?  i really couldn't tell if it was clearly discernible in time, however, i did react thinking they needed to cut that throw off either way, whether counsell runs home or retreats, he would have been out.

Bottom 8: Mota pitching

Lee: lined out to right on 1st pitch.  1 out, none on.

Wigginton: grounded out to 3B on 1st pitch.  2 outs, none on.

Bourn:  cs, cs (outside corner), b (inside), tapped to second, Fielder drops the throw (ruled a base hit).  2 outs, Bourn on 1B.

Loretta (PH): b, cs (Bourn steals 2B on the play), b, (Torres and Shause warming up for the Brewers), b (low), cs (straight down the pipe), HOME RUN IN TO THE CRAWFORD BOXES.

Bottom 8: MIL 7, HOU 5

it does suck that the 2 runs the astros handed to the brew crew in the 5th are the difference in this game.

not to mention the walk to sheets before hart's 2 out 3run homer.

The gift on Sunday to the Cardinals turned out to the difference as well.  Coach is right, I was being charitable when I said "mediocre".  Cooper promised after the game that those losing focus plays would stop and he was going to make sure of it come Monday.  Well, it's not getting to the team, so I'm not sure how Ed Wade feels about his ten minute talk being of any value.

that's not the way it works. Q says (or is supposed to say): "let it go" OR "cut 4, 3 or 2" depending on where he wants the throw to go.

Valverde in to pitch

Kapler (ph) - Homerun to LCF
Hart - GO 5-3, 1 out
Counsell - dbl, right field
Braun - single CF (then stole second)
Fielder - IBB

two men on, one out, two runs scored so far (9 to 5 Brewers, the working man's score!)

then he definitely should have been yelling for the cut on that play. would have prevented a run, maybe both that inning.

What a weak ass piss fucking poor excuse for a 9th inning from our big bats.

Tejada was 2-0 and rolled over an excuse me grounder.
Berkman was 1-1 and hit an excuse me grounder.
Lee was 1-0 and hit a broken bat roller.

Started the inning with 2 on and the fat part of the order.

put the three efforts together and end to end, and you get a 45 foot 6 hopper.

Question about the 3rd inning---Berkman and Tejada both hit it to the wall?  That is where Gameday shows the flyouts were.

You wanted PBP and then didn't bother reading it?
