Milton Bradley

I can't link to it from my phone, but I just read that Milton Bradley went Milton Bradley on a Royals announcer last night. Then he broke down crying.
Glad he's a Ranger.
Don't think twice, it's alright.

Maybe if his parents wanted him to be taken more seriously, they could have named him Omar Bradley.

He's getting better.  This episode didn't result in a season ending injury.

I wonder if the Incredible Hulk breaks down into crying jags after he goes nuts and trashes an entire city block.

Quote
"It was a conversation about how Josh Hamilton has turned his life around and has been accountable for his mistakes," Lefebvre told The Associated Press. "Right now, it seems like the baseball world and fans are rooting for him. ... It doesn't seem like Milton Bradley has done the same thing in his life."

Sounds like judgement passing to me.

Fuck Lefebvre, what does he know?  He's lucky Bradley didn't get to him.  Now he can settle back to his job announcing a suck-ass team for a bullshit franchise.

I think Lefebvre is FOS too.  But Milton doesn't help his cause by doing this very public display of anger to kind of lend credence to Lefebvre's whack point.  Milton should go find other ways to vent, that should've been what he learned in anger management class.

Well, he now says he heard this person he has never met making assumptions and derogatory comments about him, and decided to go introduce himself, not kick his ass.  Whatever.

Bradley has always been an emotional guy, I am not here to defend his specific responses.  But Lefebvre is a little cunt and has apparently made negative comments about Bradley part of his schtick for some time.  He could easily have praised Hamilton without taking a swipe at Bradley, but of course he didn't.  So, fuck him.

To be honest, MB reminds me of C4 in a way, and I like C4 a lot.  Some people are more sensitive than others, maybe they have their reasons, why not just leave them the fuck alone and let them play?  It seems most times when this comes up Bradley's teammates, the people who would actually know him, defend him.  Just like his Astros teammates defended Everett.

I wish Bradley wouldn't make so much trouble for himself, but some people just do.  But that doesn't change the fact that Ryan Lefebvre is a little cocksucker.  I'd like to see that angle covered a little more.

Agreed on Lefebvre.  What Bradley is dealing with here is akin to a Harpie who knows damn well he has an easy prey in Milton.  Somehow it happens that you're going to get guys like this come after you if you have a reputation.  Bradley is just bothered that he *has* a reputation, but that rep is one he built for himself and now the Harpies are going to never let him live it down.  If he can accept that, he has a chance to avoid incidents like this.

If not, then all bets are off.

True enough.

After perambulating around the story a bit more, it appears some or a lot of this may end up blowing back on Lefebvre after all, so I am happy about that.

And whoever said they were glad MB is a Ranger, maybe we won't be so glad in a couple of weeks.  Bradley is having a really good year (on the field, anyway.)

He's had a legitimate reason to be upset in a couple of his incidents.  The problem is he loses his freaking mind during them and ends up being the bad guy.

There is this invisible line that we all know about instinctively.  We know not to cross it.  It's there, it's a barrier, it's like barb wire or better yet a laser that will sting us if we dare attempt.  So we go as far up to the line as we can and never, never, never cross over.

Bradley doesn't know about this line, it doesn't exist so he winds up making himself the bad guy in situations where he was a victim of sorts.  One wonders what would've happened to Burley Viscar had he decided to jump the stands in Milwaukee and come after Bradley instead of The Great Billy Spiers.  Mike Hampton would've never been able to jump in to help him out, Milton would've been standing there over badly beat up Burley who probably would be wheelchair bound after that day.

That line, that line right there... don't cross it.

Damn straight.  Bradley ranks among the AL leaders in nearly every positive offensive category right now.

I've heard Hamilton, Young, and Kinsler all interviewed about Bradley in recent days.  All three of them called Bradley a great teammate.

This is all quite true, although I know you don't require my benediction.

I suppose my sympathy for Bradley partly comes from the fact he usually seems to realize he fucked up afterwards, and truly regrets it.  It is not like he is out there defending the borderline crazy stuff he does.  I feel like he is thinking, "Goddamn!  I did it again!"

I can relate to that.

I don't know...did you hear the audio?  I didn't think Lefebvre was being a jerk at all.  He basically said, without being a jerk IMO, that people have embraced Hamilton because he's humbled himself, asked for forgiveness, and worked to turn his life around, and that Bradley wasn't a bad guy, people would embrace him too, if only he'd let them.  That it was sad that Bradley has to go through so much.  I don't blame Lefebvre at all on this one.
The rules of distinction were thrown out with the baseball cap.  It does not lend itself to protocol.  It is found today on youth in homes, classrooms, even in fine restaurants.  Regardless of its other consequences, this is a breach against civility.  A civilized man should avoid this mania.

Speaking of Bradley (and his team), here they are charming Mets fans during a rainout at Shea.  Check out the crowd chants for the Rangers at about 1:40!

Probably second nature if they're hockey fans.
