speaking of hot dogs
Saw him on ESPN this morning looking at the replay in the dugout camera and then replaying it for his buddies in the dugout.  Manny being Manny.  Glad he's Boston's issue
Always ready to go to a game.

They are PLAYING baseball!!! It should be fun. He made the catch! He got the ball back in quick enough to double up the runner!! The player who messed up un the play was the boneheaded runner who was so far off the base that Manny had time to high five a fan and still get the ball in in time to get him.

The runner's mistake doesn't excuse Manny's "play".
I believe there ought to be a constitutional amendment outlawing AstroTurf and the designated hitter. I believe in the sweet spot, soft-core pornography, opening your presents Christmas morning rather than Christmas Eve and I believe in long, slow, deep, torture of Bud Selig.

I for one do not want this kinda crap to become commonplace in baseball like it has in football with the cell phones, sharpies and all that bullshit. There is just no place for this in America's pastime.

If it becomes a part of baseball, then call like it is: clownish behavor and let the chips fall where they may.  Manny wants to act like a clown, then wear a funny hat, heavy makeup and red round nose that beeps.  Leave the hair, it's clownish as clownish can be already.  Same goes for the Nat's bench deciding that chanting in the dugout is cool.  Clowns, each and every one of them.

It is. I fyou ignore the antics, it was still a durn good catch, though. In the end, I think silly behavior has a way of caming back to haunt...Soriano...ahem...

What were the Nats doing? Must've missed that one.

They got into a mini-controversy with Nelson Figueroa of the Mets.  Figueroa claims that the Nats were acting like a bunch of "girl's softball team" chanting at him (I'm guessing something like "Pitcher's got a big butt!  Pitcher's got a big butt!"  Or "Hey, hey, hey, we want a pitcher, not a belly itcher").  Nelson claims while it did not bother him per se, he thought that this was very unprofessional behavior by major leaguers.

Lastings Millege, Delmon Young and Felipe Lopez were the ones Figueroa called out specifically.  Millege claims that they were just having fun.

This was different than the chant by the Nat, that was premeditated. This was  not, Manny saw a Boston fan in Baltimore at the exact spot he had just made a spectacular catch. He siezed the moment with a fan. Blasphemy!!!! It wasn't clownish it was just fun.

So, you're telling me that Manny didn't spot the Boston fan in left during warm-ups, during in-between innings throwing, during the game.  It was on that play, that very singular moment that Manny did this? Okay, it's *STILL* a clownish move.  Hey, Manny doesn't mind being told so, why should you?

And I guess you missed what Millege said "We were just having fun!".  Premeditated or not, they think it was about having fun just as perhaps Manny did.

I chant at my competition all the time. Stuff like, "Editor can't cut cuz he's got a big butt!" and "F-X! Shmeff-X! I can see your mattes from here!" Just having fun, you know.

Hey Manny is a clown, whatever, I don't know when he spotted the fan anymore than you do. But he did not script or concieve of the play before it happend, it just happend.

wow, that is embarrassing and yes, what manny did was horrible as well.   The fact he got the double play on his showboating is embarrassing for baltimore.    But the nats thing takes the cake as these are grown men acting like 10 year olds.
