This guy is putting on a game time hitting clinic. What a hot streak.

He needs to pick it up.  After last night's game, he's not even averaging an rbi per game anymore.
Crazy Joe McCluskey was fucking nuts.  It's why they called him Crazy Joe.

Lance is having his best season to date, I (we) should REALLY hope he can keep it up.

Hey...Prior to the season starting I seem to remember Coop saying something about Berkman needing to have a career year and Oswalt needing to do the same.  Looks like Berkman's holding up his end of the deal, and Oswalt?  Well if memory serves me right, he does shit like this every year (minus all the HRs of course), then he comes out of no where reeling off 8 W's in a row, 12 outta 13 decisions...streaks like that.  I'm just waiting for the other shoe to drop.

The shoes is dropping, the shoes is dropping!

My lucky buddy had seats behind the Astros dugout last night.  He apparently had a conversation with Bowker's (SF 1B) mom.  She must have been on an emotional roller coaster last night.

Berkman has taken "locked in" to a different level.  I hope you boys and girls are enjoying this--absolutely amazing to watch.

I was listening to MLB on XM this morning and they had Billy Ripken on.  He was asked about Berkman and said something about "a lot of those hits are most certainly bleeders" or words to that effect.  "Fuck you, Billy," said I.  Also, Buck Martinez displayed his intimate knowledge of Berkman by proclaiming his swing to be identical from both sides of the plate.

Doubles and home runs are so often the result of bleeders. I'll bet Billy Ripken has not seen one plate appearance by Berkman this season.

Sweet Jeebus, it's not like this is some no-name, punch-and-judy hitter who suddenly went on a run.  This is a guy who's consistently one of the top 20 players in the game, and these supposed "experts" have clearly never seen the man play.  Unbelievable.

The only bleeders will be infielders unfortunate enough to find themselves in the way of one of those balls. He's crushing them.

a buddy and i were talking this morning about how hot he is. i wondered out loud what it must have been like to watch Ted Williams in 1941 when he was well over .400 for most of the season.

E. Hogan was asked on his show this morning about how Puma got his nickname.  He said it cam from Houston sports radio, but wasn't it actually the big freight train's doing?

Berkman was on the John and Lance show (v. 1.0) and described himself as "a puma".  It evolved from there.  I think the preferred BFT nomenclature was "home-run hitting vending machine".

Jayson Stark was on Mike and Mike this morning and I was sure he would say something about the Astros/Berkman.  Instead, they spent 80% of the segment discussing if it was ok for Joba Chamberlain to be demonstrative after strikeouts.  The remaining time covered Griffey Jr. possibly getting traded to Seattle and if the Cubs will pick up Edmonds if he clears waivers.

I caught the highlights of last night's game on First Take this morning. It went like this:

"We go back to baseball...Astros at the Giants, Top 6, Giants leading 3-1 with Barry Zito on the hill. (roll video of Berkman blast). And that's a home run to tie it at 3, tough break for Barry Zito, Astros go on to win 7-3.

It's one thing to completely ignore what Berkman is doing right now, but the anchor didn't even mention his name. Poor Barry Zito! Lance who?

I listened to the 'Stay Hot' shit right before that. Mark D-Bag Patrick gave his award not to Puma, but to Papelbon, because the Kansas City Faggot taught Okijima to play craps by drawing a craps table in the outfield dirt with his toe.

Personally, I don't give a shit.  Let them ignore the Astros.  At some point, the good Lord willing, they will be reporting on them in late October when Berkman hits another homerun.

This is ridiculous. Not just that they didn't talk about Berkman, but they they consider giving up a 400 foot bomb a "tough break". It's not like Berkman blooped one between a trio of fielders. Zito fell behind in the count and the hottest hitter in the game launched one. Poor, poor Barry.

I was thinking if someone reached for that ball it'd go through their hand
