Puma's pop
« on: April 09, 2008, 07:07:57 am »
It seems like the Big Puma has the pop back in his bat this season. In just over a week, he has 6 extra base hits this season. Last year, he had 7 in the first two months. He's got 4 doubles already, compared to 1 in April and May last year.

The private hitting lessons with Don Baylor are paying off.

Great. Now I've got the song, "Private Dancer" by Tina Turner stuck in my head, but with Don Baylor singing it to Lance Berkman in some dark, candlelit room somewhere.

I much prefer the blind Lance Berkman sculpting a bust of Don Baylor in red clay...but that's just me.

Nobody has a corner big enough.

You mean like the scene from "Ghost," with Baylor gently caressing Berkman from behind while Berkman works at the potter's wheel?

No, like this.

In the genre of blindness-related 80s music lyrics and music videos, Lionel Richie singing "Is it me you're looking for?" to a blind girl perplexes me only slightly less than Ronnie Milsap singing "There's a stranger in my house, somebody here that I can't see."

But, I digress...

It's really more of a romantic thread than it is a scary one, imo.

I am a married, heterosexual man, but I love you for that post. I tend to think, however, that Lance would be sculpting something of the snack cake variety, something in the Little Debbie range, perhaps. Lionel Ritchie taught us that you sculpt what you love the most.
