Prince Fielder ($670,000) and Cole Hamels ($500,000) are bitching about their pay this year.

Fielder: "I'm not happy about it at all. The fact I've had to be renewed two years in a row, I'm not happy about it because there's a lot of guys who have the same amount of time that I do who have done a lot less and are getting paid a lot more. But my time is going to come. It's going to come quick, too."

Hamels: "It was a low blow...That will affect down the line certain things that come up. You can't just all of a sudden throw everything out at [a player] at the last second and think that's really going to make him happy, because you still have checkmarks for what [the team] didn't do in the years before."

These guys are so fucking clueless about the real world. Shut the fuck up, you whiny little bitches. You're making much more money than the average baseball fan right now, but when you're no longer under club control--hell, even before then--five generations of Fielders and Hamelses will be set for life.

If you're gonna bitch about the system, take it up with your union. Fuck you.

That would be the same union that gives them a stonkingly good pension, for life, from whenever they stop playing baseball.  Ingrates!

Prince has a point... he might eat his way out of baseball before his arbitration years.
I believe there ought to be a constitutional amendment outlawing AstroTurf and the designated hitter. I believe in the sweet spot, soft-core pornography, opening your presents Christmas morning rather than Christmas Eve and I believe in long, slow, deep, torture of Bud Selig.

Sounds like he just realized how the sausage is made.  It is not only possible, but very easy to gain weight eating a veg diet.

Exactly.  Protein builds muscle.  Muscle burns calories.

Want to lose weight?  Get off the treadmill and start lifting.

Trust me, that's not going to stop the fat.  I'm sure it helps, but I happen to know a couple of vegetarian cheese vacuums who are determined to break the stereotype that vegetarians are skinnier and/or healthier.

I only know two veggies, one's a semi-professional body builder and I doubt she's carrying much fat, the other's like John Candy's big brother.

I know plenty of "vegetarians" who subsist almost exclusively on pasta and grilled cheese sandwiches. I use the term "vegetarians" in quotes because of the noticeable lack of actual vegetables in their diets.

Sounds like Prince is living off boca burgers with an assload of ketchup. That's not going to last too long.

That's because beans and whole grain rice are a pain to make.  Of course, he could get a chef.  Then again, a "free pass" is going to gain new meaning playing against Milwaukee.

Unless of course they are the Cecil variety of Fielders...Then they are bankrupt 5 years after retirement and hiding from the IRS and the FBI.

One of my employees is one of those.  A vegetarian who doesn't eat mushrooms, onions, tomatoes, broccoli.  It fuckin' boggles.

Actually it describes my 11 year olds diet pretty well but she does like meat as well.

Always ready to go to a game.

Fielder: (shocked expression) What? You have to eat veggies to be a vegetarian?  I thought it was a religion for those who vegged out all the time on the couch.  I do the couch part well.

As long as it's nugget-type meat, my kids will eat it...otherwise...

The only way Fielder's fat ass will be able to make it around the bases by the time his arbitration eligible time is over is on a Rascal (tm).  Of course dude wants to get paid now...

Add Nick Markakis to the list of WLBs as well...
Quote
Markakis, however, was miffed. He left the team training complex long before the 5 p.m. deadline, but earlier in the day he told The Baltimore Sun, "That's just how the Orioles feel. I don't have much of a choice. I'm just going to have to deal with it."
In the end, my dissolution with the game of baseball will not be a result of any loss of love for the game, rather from the realization that I can no longer bear the anger its supposed stewards cause to be built up in my soul. -Lee (01/08/2013)

In dog years, probably.  I'll bet they're making the sequel to SuperSize Me....an antagonistic rebuttal to the original, of course.
