I plan to have several in about 2 hours. 

On another note, I was meeting with my counterpart from Alaska yesterday, and we're committed to figuring out a way to get me some Alaska Amber down here in Houston.

I brewed a clone of this that I found online.  It should be ready Super Bowl weekend.  I'll let you know how it turns out.  Of course, never having tasted the original, it won't really do that much good.

the problem is no preservatives and a very limited shelf life. count the days carefully, and drink fast!

I tried this beer a few weeks back called Golden Draak(sp?).  It came in a giant white bottle with a golden dragon on it of course.  It claimed to be an ale but had almost a stout chocolate taste to it.  Wasn't bad but wasn't anything real amazing either.

I just finished a large bottle of Lagunitas Cappuccino Stout, which was excellent, assuming of course that you're cool with coffee in your beer.  I also got a sixer of the St Arnold's Winter Stout, so I'm looking forward to that this weekend.

Good ol' Shiner Dunkelweizen for me on this cold, wet winter's eve.  It's the second time I've had some this go-round, and both times it has seemed quite a bit drier than I remember from past years. It's not bad, in fact it's still quite good.  It's just... different.

Tried the Lagunitas Cappuccino Stout for the first time a month or so ago--I really liked it.

They seem to be going back to the style of their original Winter Ale (the moniker under which they first purveyed Dunkelweizen).  I'm not usually a fan of wheat beers, but this one is growing on me.

I tried a http://eng.baltika.ru/brand/0/3/13/6_porter.html on a whim and it was good, but I wonder how it treats you in the morning after several.  Surprisingly sweet with no bad aftertaste; it was the first porter I have tried.

Spent the weekend in Bloomington, IN with my little lady, and hit up the two local brewers.  Upland has a solid IPA called Dragonfly, and Bloomington Brewing Company has a solid Java Porter, but it doesn't hold a candle to the Real Ale Coffee Porter.  Still, for a little bitty college town, I wasn't lacking, and I didn't have to drink Yuengling.

There was a Copper Tank in Deep Ellum in Dallas. It closed several years ago.
