Honestly, I was surprised at the outfield shuffle more than anything, I thought Lee/Pence/Scott was one of the best outfields in the NL.
I can't believe I am dignifying this with a response. Please tell me you left out the word "offensive" in between best and outfields.
Just looking at the offensive numbers, the 2007 trio did fall into the top NL Outfields. But please remember, the 2000 Astros outfield also fell into the Top offensive outfields in the NL group. Putting up numbers while losing games and playing a month of games while being out of the race runs a little hollow.
Lee/Pence/Scott combined for .297, 67 HR, and 252 RBI.
Holliday/Taveras/Hawpe combined for .318, 67 HR, and 277 RBI.
Burrell/Roland/Victorino combined for .284, 69 HR, and 232 RBI.
Alou/Beltran/Green combined for .297, 56 HR, and 207 RBI.
Dunn/Hamilton/Griffey combined for .275, 89 HR, 246 RBI
