I don't think this is in jest.  Drayton takes such shit seriously.
I believe there ought to be a constitutional amendment outlawing AstroTurf and the designated hitter. I believe in the sweet spot, soft-core pornography, opening your presents Christmas morning rather than Christmas Eve and I believe in long, slow, deep, torture of Bud Selig.

I wasn't joking.  After getting booed...your job lasts for 24 hours.

If only I HAD booed Gardner.

I just speculated this in another thread.  Jay Powell and Jimmy One-M got the bullet right after getting booed.

The idiots on 790 are suggesting that a) Dusty Baker would be an excellent manager and that b) he's good with young players.

yeah, but it might just be a management problem, lidge is still around and he's been booed plenty of times.

He is black, so he'll be able to handle the heat better.  On days when the roof is open, that is.

Dusty would be great.  I'd love to see Oswalt throwing 150 pitches every other start.  Then when his arm falls off and the docs surgically re-attach it, we can move him to the bullpen.

If they hire Dusty Baker, I'm buying season tickets and bringing a bullhorn to boo with.

Someone needs to tell JdJO how to spell:  "Garner, in his fourth season as the club's manager, replaced Jimmy Williams at the 2004 All-Star break."   http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/front/5086447.html

reattachment plus truck battery  could do the trick.

I hate the thought of defending JdJO, but it's really Jimy's parents who should've learned how to spell.

No, a rundown of Jack's failures as a mascot would have completed it.

But then he hears a conversation in the head between two drunks (me and fill in the blank) about how much we liked Orbit's silly antics.

One week later

Drayton announces "due to popular demand we are bringing Orbit back."

The day Orbit made his triumphant return as mascot for the Houston Astros, several very loud and boisterous fans boo-ed from section 145 upon his introduction.  That evening, Orbit was fired.

But instead of firing him, Drayton decided to retire his jersey which helped boost the attendance for that game.

Orbit was then given a ten year personal services contract to work as a special mascot consultant for the organization.  Orbit could not be reached for comment since he is in Pebble Beach, California on a golf outing.
