Everett's brother died?
« on: August 15, 2007, 09:23:09 pm »
Watching the Dodgers' broadcast tonight and Vin Scully reported that Adam Everett left the team recently (would have to be today or last night) because he lost his 25 year old brother.  Have any of you heard anything about this?  JD and Brownie mention anything?

This is the closest to confirmation I've seen so far:

Quote
From Alyson Footer:
Everett absent: Adam Everett flew to his home in Georgia on Tuesday to tend to personal business, and it's likely he will be away from the club for several days.

Everett, who has been on the disabled list for nearly two months with a broken leg, accompanied the team to the West Coast, but it's doubtful he'll rejoin them on this trip.

"I expect it to be several more days," Purpura said.

Wow.. if this is true, my condolences go out to AE and his family.
Today seems like a good day to burn a bridge or two

Wow... to have that happen after everything he's been through with his daughter is unreal.  Prayers and condolences if true.

I haven't seen any details other than this.  I'll be praying for Adam as well.

wow, how terrible.   Thoughts and prayers to the Everett family.   What a tough couple of years for them.
There are three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who has the same first name as a city; and never get involved with a woman with a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, and everything else is cream cheese.

Woody Williams, who spoke with Everett on the phone, says the Astros are going to get together to see what they can do for their teammate's family.  "I'm sure we'll talk about it and figure out what we can do," Williams said. "At this time, it's hard to go through what he's going through."
