Tidbit on Wigginton from the Marlin Announcers
« on: August 04, 2007, 09:28:55 pm »
When I lived in TX, I welcomed the chance to watch or listen to broadcasts by the teams that were opposing the Astros.  It's a good way to see how others view the Astros--and, sometimes, it provides a chance to learn something about one of the good guys.

So I beg your pardon if this is old news to you, but I did not know the Wigginton delivered his 2nd son.  Short on the rest of the details.

Their broadcasters joked about him not only having "good hands" on the field, but at home as well.

That tidbit was shared during the last half of the Marlin game that was broadcast locally.
Nothing worthwhile comes w/o pain, ask any Astros fan.

I read about that not long after it happened. It's a pretty amazing story.

"Two Hands"

"Midwife"

I was trying to come up with some alliteration with midwife, a Sultan of Swat equivalent. Nothing came to mind.

However, the announcers could have some fun. "He handled that shot to the hot corner like a slippery placenta."

"Two innings later, and the Astros are still feelings the sharp pains of that Wigginton contraction. Assistant athletic trainer Rex Jones is instructing the players to line up in the dugout for epidurals."

It saddens me that all the wit and creativity on this board isn't focused on more important tasks.

Anyhoo, I vote for "Forceps".

Ty Huxtable.
There are three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who has the same first name as a city; and never get involved with a woman with a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, and everything else is cream cheese.

She's from Zwolle, LA.  It's not that unusual there.
