Your Pinwheel gem of they day

Purpura's next order of business should be to sign Brad Lidge to a long-term contract. This has almost no chance of happening since the Astros prefer to wait too long on their potential free agents--Lidge is free after 2008--and then overpay.

Roy Oswalt: 5 years, $73M, signed prior to his walk year.

Do I really need to give the examples of how under-market this deal is?

Well, certainly that's the exception... wait, what was that, Mr. Berkman?
I believe there ought to be a constitutional amendment outlawing AstroTurf and the designated hitter. I believe in the sweet spot, soft-core pornography, opening your presents Christmas morning rather than Christmas Eve and I believe in long, slow, deep, torture of Bud Selig.

"Lidge" and "long term" should not be used in the same sentence.

No, you see, Dobro hates Lidge. Not sure why, but he does not like it that he is pitching well and does not want him on the team. The hate campaign is into its second year.

either something happened in the minors between them or Lidge stole his dog or his girlfriend.

With the witch hunt and general stupidity currently infesting the local airwaves, paper, and such, I'm considering taking out a time share in a bubble.

It's been my impression for awhile that, after tasting the national stage w/ the occasional interview on XM or ESPN radio, Pinwheel desperately wants entry into ESPN's exclusive Gammons/Olney/Stark/Kurkjkjlyklyian fraternity.  Any slam of the Astros is, of course, well received in Bristol.

"Bristol" is Limeyspeak for "tit".

I thought that was "teat." Like "shite." I guess that's north of Scottyland.

Rhyming slang:  "Bristol City" = titty.

Piles?

What are piles, anyway?  They (it?) do sound unpleasant.

Acutally to be honest, Gammons, Stark and Kurkjian all like the Astros.  And if you listen to any of them, they rarely bag on any team.  They leave that to the "experts" like Kruk and "the GM" (I refuse to even type his sorry name).
