Today's DQ Moment
« on: August 02, 2007, 01:58:09 pm »
1.2 innings.  9 hits.  8 runs.  3 earned.

I feel bad about this.

I can tell. I could barely read your post because of the tear stains.

Will ESPiN point out that this is the first time he has ever left this early without faking a hamstring injury or getting himself ejected?

Helluva game though.  Yankees put up an 8 spot in the bottom of the inning.

Since we're posting former player stats, Morgan hit a 2 run shot in the second for the fathers.

Good for him- I hope he turns it around and has a fine career.

I bet he is wishing he still had that HEB endorsement money.
Today seems like a good day to burn a bridge or two

I'm betting on the tried and true hamstring tweak.
Often wrong, but never in doubt.

I think his back tightens up too.  But the hamstring is a great excuse.  It implies that he overexerted himself.

...and Ensberg goes deep for the second time 3-4.  Good for him, hope he keeps it going for the Pads.

Amazing what Morgan can do if he swings. Why didn't we give him a chance?

Because we had Loretta, Lamb and Charlie Hayes in front of him.  If only...

I wish him well. The better he is, the better the PTBNL.

Mo, in the postgame:

"I decided I was most successful when I was aggressive and when I swung as hard as I could. I came here with the idea that if I see the ball, I'm going to absolutely let it fly. If not, I'm going to go down in a huge ball of flames."

I didn't realize it worked that way. I thought the teams agreed on a list of players at the time the trade is made, and then wrangle it out later. Interesting.

Damn, Mo, only about 3,000,000 people told you that while you were in an Astro uniform.

Huge ball of flames will likely be start #2.

Last night after his last at-bat, shades of the Astro Mo... look at strike three, then turn and ask the ump, "You really sure that was strike three?"

Aw, hell, Mo, I wish you well, even though it's weird to see you in a Padres shirt.
