Maybe Hargrove will re-discover his fire back in Ohio. That would be awkward.

According to JD on tonight's telecast, one rumor has LaRussa and Jocketty both going to the reds at the end of the season.  odd.

That was actually Brownie relating that odd rumor.  JD disclaimed any knowledge of said rumor.

Jocketty denies (of course). Rumor started Friday with Hrabosky in Cincinatti.

Quote
Cardinals general manager Walt Jocketty on Saturday deflected any suggestion he is pursuing a reunion of sorts with the Cincinnati Reds' president and chief executive officer, Bob Castellini, as the struggling franchise's general manager.

"I was told that, but it's not accurate. I haven't spoken to Bob Castellini in over a year," Jocketty said before watching the Cardinals take on the Reds at Great American Ballpark. "I don't know how people are making that connection."

FSN Midwest broadcaster Al Hrabosky mentioned Jocketty as the potential successor to Reds GM Wayne Krivsky during Friday's game and further suggested that manager Tony La Russa may accompany Jocketty in something of a package deal. La Russa's contract expires after this season; the club assumed Jocketty's option for 2008 the same day last September that it announced reorganization of his front office.

This could be good for us. A new manager is probably more likely to use their bullpen.

This would be worth it just to witness the blubbering meltdown of the BFiBs. "Traitor!" "How could he leave the best job in baseball?" "Why us?" Oh, yes, it would be interesting to watch.
