That wont work, hold your head back and put pressure on it, maybe some ice, that might stop the bleeding.  Just try to stop sticking your finger in there.

if you read too much Bohls, your eyes will bleed. seriously, the Astros stuff he writes is recycled from Houston print media or blogs.

It's really a simple, loathsome formula, more than likely influenced heavily by the proliferation of sports radio/tv.....inject yourself into the fray, in the process making yourself (and our paper) part of the story...just not quite THE story.

At 13 games under .500 and in fifth place, a whopping 13 1/2 games out of first in the mediocre NL Central before Friday's game with Colorado, the Astros should put the "For Sale" sign outside Minute Maid Park.

Doesn't the National League Central's first-place team also have the league's second-best record, just one game off the best record in the league? The division as a whole may be mediocre, but at this point catching Milwaukee would require becoming one of the best teams in baseball. It's not like going a few games over .500 is going to get you there.

Bohls' only positive contribution is that he displaced John Maher from the sports page.

Being negative passes for "objectivity".  Also, they have to say "I'm sorry but..." a lot.

That's true of notable national and international newspapers.  But they seldom if ever say, "sorry."

If Oswalt and Jennings both pitch like aces the rest of the way, Lance continues to hit, the bullpen comes out of its slump, etc. I could see them being one of the best teams in baseball in the 2nd half. Still might not be enough to catch Milwaukee, but I don't see why that's even worth discussing right now. They've got almost a full month to decide where the club is at. See how things look then.

The truth lies somewhere in the middle.  They do type sorry, they just don't mean it or mean it in the sense they are sorry for what they are doing/writing.  What they are actually apologizing for is that only they can see their own obvious brilliance.  It's a fine line but once you understand it, you'll be better off.  I'm sorry I had to point this out to you but I thought you would benefit.  See what I mean?

occasionally, i agree with him, but it is rare. Sullivan was far worse, though, as incredible as that may sound.

Kirk Bohls gave the 2006 Houston Texans NFL Draft an F-.  I replied and told him many national writers like Mel Kiper and Rick Gosselin of the Dallas Morning News gave the Texans A's for the great depth of that draft and that his grade was a knee jerk reaction to their first round pick.   He replied saying nothing, something like "we'll see".

I got into a running trade of emails with him regarding his assertion in one of his columns that Drayton's meddling ways are very harmful to the Astros.  I persisted in simply asked him to provide an example/evidence and he could not.  He became frustrated and finally told me that "people think O.J. is innocent, too."  We're no longer pen pals as a result.

He did offer up that he and Richard Justice are "good friends."
