Berkman may start suspension today

If Luke Scott is healthy enough to start today, and the rest of the outfielders are fine, Lance Berkman will more than likely drop his appeal tonight in the first game of the three-game series against the Oakland A's and begin serving the two-game suspension and pay the $2,000 fine he received Friday for his antics last Tuesday when he was ejected in Denver for arguing balls and strikes.

I'd like to see Pence in the three hole for a couple of games.  That would move Loretta back to #2.  Might be innuresting to see what they can do with that lineup.

Well, as the old saying goes, you only need one more run than the other team to win.  Carlos Lee had chances to help this team win and he just looks off right now.  It's not a slam on the guy, everyone goes through a slump, but right now, he's not helping.  When Lance Berkman works a walk instead of getting a challenge pitch from anybody yesterday, you know they feel much more comfortable pitching to Lee right now.

Lee has got to make somebody pay for that!

He's been sitting too close to MoBerg lately?  (It's my way of saying, I don't know why... so he's leaving it up to Lee to swing the bat... although Berkman was better at being the man on Saturday).

Berkman drops appeal

Quote
Astros first baseman Lance Berkman dropped his appeal of his two-game suspension and will begin serving it tonight against the Oakland A's. Berkman will be eligible to return to action Thursday.

....

"We checked with the commissioner's office and they were fairly adamant the appeal was going to do no good. In my mind, there's no sense in dragging it out or having something hanging over my head. Just get it out of the way and move on."
