P.S. The home plate ump has *NO* idea where the bottom of the strike zone is.

none whatsoever.   The called third strike on Wandy was comical.

Wandy has thrown several pitches lately called for balls that were much better than the one called for a strike in his last at bat.

I hope he doesn't get frustrated and lose it on the mound.

Hey--I did not get to see the Biggio at bat in the 1st.  The official scorer scored it an error, but the radio guys really felt it should have been a hit.

If you saw it--please tell me how you would have scored it.  Thanks.

Wild West Night Friday!!  Come dressed up as a cowboy and win prizes at MMPUS.    How fucking minor league.   Dress up at the ballpark?

This is coming from folks who are giving away a giftbag of low rent canned beans as a prize for one of the in between inning contests, so I guess it shouldnt be surprising.

I went back and watched it, Davis was falling away from a slow grounder that barely touched the end of his glove. I would not be surprised to see it changed later.

It was a comebacker up the third base side of the mound. Davis picked at it, but the ball bounced off the edge of his glove.

I would have scored it a hit on account of it being a reaction play by the pitcher, and Mr. 3000 was at bat.

I agree.  No way that was an error.   Maybe the official scorer just didnt feel like giving craig a hit on such a weakly struck ball.

Also: EPIC and TOP-FIVER

Wandy looks like a much improved pitcher in terms of approach and mental toughness. Since the start of the season, he's been a nice surprise. (cue the grand slam and knock on wood)

Footer is on the postgame again with Lucas.  Maybe this is a permanent assignment.

5-2 week. Woody and Wandy get their first wins. A few hits at the bottom of the order. I'm crossing my fingers that this portends a good run.

He made a shitty read off the bat and, luckily, had the speed to recover to get there.

No, it was shitty.

On a ball hit that short, he shouldn't be pausing.

A CF with good instincts/ball read is charging off the crack of the bat and makes that catch either jogging or standing still.

Theres really isn't anything to disagree about...

Pence got a late jump on the ball. Yeah, he made a nice sliding catch, but it was thanks to recovery speed, not a good read.

Just thought I had heard his name before seeing him at RR.

Did he play with the Diamondbacks and Tigers?

Had some mlb time with the D'Backs when they trotted out a bunch of AAA guys to try and fill out their roster.   That was before Colangelo got his Gold Master Card in the mail and went on a free agent spending spree that he couldn't afford to pay.

Guys like Klassen got shipped out as soon as they could get him a bus ticket out of Arizona and back to the minors.
