a senio moment (non bb for sure)
« on: May 09, 2007, 07:16:15 am »
I have two daughters (12 years apart) who are both seniors in college. One will graduate Texas State in December . (finally) and the younger prom dress one will graduate my old school Northwestern State in May. That will be the third of three to graduate college for me. (other is a lawyer) Nothing to do with baseball I know , but most of you are used to my ramblings out there. Just something I am extremely proud of and can think of no other up comming mothers day gift that could be any better.

I have 5 chillun's, the oldest of whom is 12 (yes, I'm Irish Catholic-Light, meaning Episcopal).  College outlook is dim, unless they keep winging these good grades and scholarship $$$ come calling.  In the case of five kids, I guess I should amend that to $$$$$.

Anyway, I think my oldest might be going into television production, as the highlight of the game for HIM last night was the sign-off score showing that Houston's Astros had defeated St. Louis's Reds, 7-6.  DOHHHHLLLLLLL!!!!

Congratulations, Fredia....mucho respecto from Roberto aqui.

ehhh- with government loans, scholarships and relatively cheap state schools and junior colleges there is absolutely no reason or excuse for a kid not to go to college if they have the aptitude.  My wife and I both scholarshipped/worked/borrowed our way through school. Does the debt suck? Yes, but the salary is great, the debt is manageable and there is no reason not to be able to do it. It doesn't make any economic sense not to go to college when you look at the lifetime earning stats. Don't let lack of money stand in the way.

Going back and reading what I originally wrote it's obvious now that no college for my kids WAS implied, meaning I must accept whatever "weak-kneed bastard bitch" comments are tossed my way....and stuff.

But I still can hate on Roger Clemson, enough so to repeatedly butcher his name, if I so choose.
