Lost in all the Jackie Robinson stories
« on: April 17, 2007, 05:37:59 pm »
about his legacy and how few AA players there are today is that in my opinion, if jackie were alive today, he would not be a baseball player, but rather a football player.

He was a great tailback (and 4 sport star I believe) at the college level, and if the NFL was the behemoth that it was today back then I suspect he would have played football.

We'll never know, of course, but I think it probably would have gone down that way. And this isn't baseball's fault and there is little to knothing they can do about it.

Just my thought- appologize if it has been covered before.

On the Sunday night game, they said that he averaged something like 10 yards a carry.
I remember all the good times me 'n Miller enjoyed
Up and down the M1 in some luminous yo-yo toy
But the future has to change - and to change I've got to destroy
Oh look out Lennon here I come - land ahoy-hoy-hoy
