If you put the game on SAP, you get to hear the field mic, but not the annoying Fox announcers.

Wait a second... Joe Girardi is the color announcer? How do you go from Manager of the Year to Fox color analyst with no stops in between?

He must be impossible to deal with (from an owner's perspective).

I couldn't believe he didn't get a job managing.

What the hell happened there? It wasn't a hit and run, there was no way that was dropping.

I think the yellow goggles only improve his eyesight at the plate.

Ensberg runs the bases like a 12 year old on amphetamines.   If there was ever a case of hustling too much, his is it, because he is just damn slow, yet sees himself as being faster.   He can't be much over 50% in his steal attampts these last couple of years, and often times he is gunned easily.   Pretty much the same goes for stretching doubles and 1st to 3rds.   He is heads up on the balls in the dirt.

Got to love Fox. They show a graphic that says Q is 1-6 on the season. The very same graphic also shows him batting .333.

seems to me he has a major problem with looking back to see whats going on instead of keeping his head down and chuggin..

It's Ausmus's birthday. They're showing prices, etc as they were when Brad was born.

I've had about enough of these announcers and it's still early in the game.

Hell, I can't even figure out how to work my wireless. I set it up, it worked, I encrypted it, I still get the signal but now "no connectivity." So basically I am beating a path from my living room with the TV to my office with the computer. Good thing I'm a pacer by nature.

There is no way I could figure out how to do this. I actually have a pretty big screen for my desktop, so I guess this set up is about as good as I'm going to get.

Did you get the 700k feed?

Q is pretty spry. I'm starting to believe in him as a ML backup catcher. Good stuff from him today.

Biggio can't be bothered to actually put his body in front of a throw.

Quality from the team's "best" outfielder.  Outfield defense is going to be painful all season.

Hell, I can't even figure out how to work my wireless. I set it up, it worked, I encrypted it, I still get the signal but now "no connectivity." So basically I am beating a path from my living room with the TV to my office with the computer. Good thing I'm a pacer by nature.

I am so freakin' spoiled now. After years of dial-up, they finally upgraded my phone lines and I was able to get dsl. Wireless network and new laptops soon followed, and now here I sit in my recliner in front of the TV. Sweet.

Too bad it's the fuckin' Red Sox/Angels. Regional coverage my ass, sorry bastards.

Did you get the 700k feed?

Fuck no. I have long been a Game Day Audio subscriber and an Extra Innings subscriber. I can't get Extra Innings through my cable provider, so I've been trying to upgrade my GDA to some flavor of MLB TV. So far none of those dumb cocksuckers has replied to an email about upgrading. Of course they claim they will respond within 48 hours.

So I'm using a slingbox sort of arrangement at the moment. Do you have the 700k? Does anyone have any feedback on its quality?

This team's defense is bad and getting worse. Wow.

Exactly. I don't understand why, in that situation, you don't give up on the sweet play and take a couple of steps toward the throw to make sure you can catch it cleanly. Once that ball went to the corner, the runner was going to score. The entire objective at that point is to keep the batter at second.

I'm sure it's an easy fix, but I'm a technological idiot (among several other categories of idiocy). I did everything by the book, but it won't work. I've gone over it a dozen times. I'm sure it could get fixed if I bribed some 19 year old with a six-pack of Pearl who would look at me like I'm an idiot, but I accepted defeat.

It was just like hooking up a monitor to the computer.  Literally used a monitor cable to connect it to the tv and then downloaded a driver (which windows automatically found for me).  It helps that I have a new plasma with an input slot specifically for the computer.

I'm just thrilled that you can get the games on mlb.tv on saturdays during the blackout period.  Last year all i could get was the audio feed so i spent my saturdays during the game sending nasty grams to directv and fox.  Houston is almost never the game of the week here in LA.

Make sure that your router is broadcasting the same SSID that your computer is listening for. The default SSID settings are different for different manufacturers, and if you don't get them in sync, you'll be completely out of luck.

Man, if I knew what an SSID was, I'd be all over that.

What brand of router do you have?  I'm assuming that you can get to the router's configuration information via your browser since you're using a hardwire connection. For example, I've got a Linksys router. If I browse to 192.168.1.1, I get to the router, and I can play with its configuration information from there.

Mine is a Linksys also. I'm going to fool around with it after the game.

The irony is annoyingly ironic in that I installed it, it worked fine, and then I encrypted it, and despite knowing the password and ID all that, I couldn't connect to it.

You mean "SSID broadcast enabled/disabled"?  Generally, you want that disabled.

Everytime I click disable, it returns it to the original menu. I think I'll just accept it until I move, which is in a few months.

Right. If that's enabled, that makes it easier for other people in the neighborhood to find your network.

Go to the "Wireless" tab, and then the "Basic Wireless Setup" tab (at least, that's what they're called on my system), and you should find a "Wireless Network Name (SSID)" entry, or something like that. If you're not broadcasting that SSID, you'll have to enter it manually in your computer's network setup.

So the ball hits the bat after it hits the ump and the runner still gets to go to 2nd?  Why is some time of interference not called?

Can anyone describe the fuckin' game here?

Ruiz went to second on a bizarre up-and-in fastball that somebody swung through. Quintero missed the ball, it hit Relaford in the shoulder, and the Relaford may or may not have been hit with the batter's follow-through. Meanwhile, the ball was rolling around on the ground, and Ruiz was trotting down to second.

Sorry; assumed that everybody had the Fox broadcast.

Unless you live in Houston you are watching the Red Sox. Because Fox understands that everyone in America is fucking fascinated with the Red Sox.

Wild pitch moves Nunez to 2nd.  Ball goes all the way to backstop.

There goes the DP. Q stabs at and misses a pitch low and outside. Rowland to second.

Rowand leads off with a ground ball single off Borkowski's foot. I think this is just one of "those" days.
Nunez hits a fielder's choice to short, Rowand out at second. Biggio's ballistic throw to first is "juuust a little late". 1 out.
Passed ball moves Nunez to second. Quintero didn't even try to move his feet.
Ruiz walks.
Somebody pops out to short. 2 outs, runners on 1st and 2nd.
Rollins pops up in short left, Everett grabs it. 3 outs.

Fly to short left field. Adam beats Carlos there, 3 outs.

Rally cap time.

Yes, sorry. Another pop out to end the inning. The good guys need three to keep playing. Due up are AE, Q and OP.

740 KTRH Radio pbp guys (Milo II and Milo III) say that no ligament damage, no tendon damage, just needs rest, meds.  Will miss a couple of starts probably.  Will be on DL retroactive, no word on who will be called up.

Flash Gordon in to pitch for Philly.  He's 40 years old, as they've told us three times now.
Everett leads off with a four-pitch walk.
Loretta pinch-hitting for Quintero.  Two more balls, and the pitching coach is out. Ok, there's the first strike, although it was pretty high. Loretta lines out to CF. 1 down.

Your problem is you live too close to Houston. Here in Austin we're getting the game.

Palmeiro pinch-hitting.  Count goes full, foul ball, and there's the walk.
Tying run comes to the plate with 1 out. Let's go Bidge.

They verify where you live by doing a dummy credit card transaction. So it must depend on your credit card's billing address.
