She seems pretty cute to me.  When compared to the likes of Zelasko, she's a fuckin' supermodel.

Not the question.  Saying someone is "cute compared to Johnny Zelasko" is like saying someone is "talented compared to Johnny Zelasko."

Still, I always have a hard time trying to decide if Dana Larson is very cute, but needs her verticle adjusted or if she's really unattractive but looks ok because she's on tv in standard def.

It depends: how many beers have you had?

She was one of the sports reporters here in Austin, and it was definitely a flip-flop proposition. After she left for FSNSW, she was replaced by her evil twin, who is cute but has one of those asymmetrical lip geometries that drives you nuts over time.

Well, I'm about to bail from the office and drive home. So I won't be back on for another hour or so.

Friday the 13th seems to be favoring the home team so far.  This is one disgusting inning... stop the bleeding, Roy.

The first groundball RBI was a ball that went right up the 3rd base line.  By the time Mo got to it, I guess he figured he couldn't throw the runner out anyway, so he let it roll past third base hoping it would go foul.

Not to discount the Astros' offense tonight, but cold, nasty weather tends to favor hitters. Meyers seems to have been affected more than Roy, though Roy doesn't seem as sharp as usual, simply judging from the pbp.

Fact.

He's screwing both teams with his moving strike zone.

As shitty as the weather is, you'd think the ump would want to get off the field and open up the zone.

Orlando Palmeiro just took on the whole section 312 behind the Phillie dugout.  He threw his bat into the crowd accidently, but they wouldn't give it back.  He was ready to jump in there and go get it.

They were waiting for him.

Heh, nicely done Bidge. Make 'em think that you're bailing out so bad you'd need a broom to hit an outside corner pitch, then smack one the other way.

Flew open on that slider... good block by Ausmus.  Now he hangs one.  It's the consistency that bothers me with Lidge, not his stuff.

I tune in to watch the Astros and a Little League game broke out right there.  That could have gotten REAL messy if Lee hadn't backed up 3rd.

Christ!  You  would have to ask for PBP now, LOL.

Grounder off Ensberg's glove, AE throws to first but Lance can't pick it.  Runner takes off for third so Lance throws to third and it gets away from Mo.  Then it gets past Lee.  Don't know how the runners are still at first and third.

Victorino - FO to deep right.  One out.
Utley - HBP (foot)
Howard - FO to medium left.  Two out.
Helms - 1-2 count... infield hit.  Men on third and first.

Helms - 1-2 count... infield hit.  Men on third and first.

Good job on getting to the heart of the matter on that play.  Kind of took all the flavor out of it though.  A simple "infield hit" doesn't really suffice for that mess.

Victorino - FO to deep right.  One out.
Utley - HBP (foot)
Howard - FO to medium left.  Two out.
Helms - 1-2 count... infield hit.  Men on third and first.

Wertz K on a high fastball.

Overall, a very effective inning by Lidge.  He opened up a couple of times trying to overthrow his slider.  When he held his mechanics and stayed closed, he manhandled Howard.  He had Helms pretty much set up for a four seamer and give Helms credit for fouling it off.  He threw a slider hoping he's bite, but again, he opened up and a hitter can see that and lay off the slider in such a case.  Helms then hit a hard grounder to third that Mo punted over to short.

Then he went back and just tossed Wertz aside like nothing.

Lidge just needs to keep throwing and not worry about anything.  He'll be fine.  Now, if only there is a way to duct tape his shoulder closed.

The beard should be part of the nickname.  Does seem like something out of the Civil War era, like a riverboat gambler or something.

I'm sorry: El Caballo doesn't cut it. It has to be El KaBong!
I remember all the good times me 'n Miller enjoyed
Up and down the M1 in some luminous yo-yo toy
But the future has to change - and to change I've got to destroy
Oh look out Lennon here I come - land ahoy-hoy-hoy

I'm going to Panama on Monday and I think I might have to leave my Astros garb behind. I don't want to get mobbed. Over the winter in Panama everything was Carlos Lee. I mean, Carlos Lee is to Panama what the pickup truck is to Texas. Every place you look that's what you see. I can only imagine what it's like now.

Wheeler, nice job. The entire bullpen came through tonight.

Everyone but Mikey Boy just saw an incredible effort by what I believe will prove itself to be the best bullpen in the National League. Wow, that was some serious work.

Isn't Andruw Jones more popular?

Well that turned out to be a lot more exciting game than I thought it would.  Some encouraging signs for Lidge, I think.  I hope the guys can hit Hamels tomorrow.  I'll be sitting behind home plate, hopefully not freezing my ass off.

In Curacao, probably.  Not in Panama.  Lee is more popular than Mo Rivera there though?

Yep, makes up for the one he should've gotten on opening day.

Number of billboards that feature Carlos Lee: 1000000000000000000000
Number of billboards that feature Rivera: 0

Panamanians seem to really embrace Lee. I can't tell you how many Brewers hats you see on people wandering around. Really. In, say, the Dominican you see plenty of Red Sox hats and some Yankees hats, but that's about it. In Panama you never see a Yankees hat. I fully expect to be stopped on the street on a regular basis when I wear one of my Astros hats.

Carlos is going to be huge in Houston. He's going to be embraced wholly by the city, and he's going to be a superstar there. Maybe not on a Bagwell/Biggio level, but whatever the next lower tier is Carlos will own it.

Cool.  Better him than that other Carlo$, mainly because Lee wants to be in Houston and that other guy just wants every penny he can rake in.

Let's recap..

-3 homers for El Caballo
-Morgan hits his first
-Crazy drunk philly fan chased around the field
-OP's bat nearly decapitates little boy
-Roy gets squeezed all night, finally loses his cool when called for a bullshit balk.  Garner ejected
-Amazing outfield assist from Scott to Ausmus to nail Victorino at the plate, followed by-
-Super clutch double play
-Lidge actually gets out of a jam without allowing a run
-Roy manages to pick up win #100

Fun fun fun!

I can't believe I missed it.  That's what happens when you have 3 boys playing little league and junior league on 3 different teams.

Well, at least I can stop calling him "El Cabrito" now.

"My hammy is a little tight. I wish I was like Ausmus. He's Jewish and isn't allowed to have a pulled hamstring."
