Before Roger Clemens' high-profile appearance at the New York Yankees game Wednesday in Tampa, Fla., he threw a round of batting practice in Kissimmee to some of the Astros' minor leaguers ? and a major player.

Astros owner Drayton McLane put on a batting helmet, stepped into the batter's box against Clemens and looked at a few fastballs whiz past before deciding he had seen enough. ...

Did McLane get a hit?
"Absolutely not," he said.

McLane, who returned home to Temple on Thursday, spent time entertaining some of his most important customers from his various business ventures, and several of them were able to face Clemens as well.

Hall of Fame pitcher, great competitor, gets to throw bp to a bunch of suits.  Nice.

I wish I were a billionaire.
Another trenchant comment by a jealous lesser intellect.

Blatant speculation or real G2?  From his agents or a (what) team?

I guess that's why he's a Hall of Famer (and I'm not.)

Well, there's the fact that he can't throw 95 anymore.  And I think he owns a few 1000 shares of Wal-Mart stock.

Uh, this doesn't have to do with Drayton or Rajah, but...
Strosrays, nice avatar! I don't often to see Neil Young (especially 1970's stuff) popping up on the net. I love that album; Powderfinger is my favorite Neil tune of all time.

Good On Ya!
