I've heard 1,000 explanations about how weather effects the flight of the ball and I'm not 100% sure about any of them.

But it seems to me that humidity (more water and gunk in the air) would slow down the ball.  The ball's flying out everywhere, not just at MMPUS.  Let the steroid/juiced ball conspiracy theories abound....

The lighter the air, the easier and farther the ball should travel.

Let's try to avoid this discussion again. Even though it seems wet air is heavier, it is less dense (see BDs link) so the ball will travel farther.

Humidity is not "gunk", it's just water.  And water is lighter than air, so humid air is less dense than dry air.  All else being equal, the ball travels farther in humid air.

Humid air might be an answer, but trust me, when the homeruns are flying out at record numbers this *early* in the season (when pitchers are supposed to be waaaay ahead of the hitters), then something other than just air is involved.

Juiced ball?  Maybe.  But I would put everything on the table and say it's probably a little of everything.
