Bad calls, fielding mistakes, and mental errors. Terrible game so far. At least there's still plenty of time for improvement.

I caught the highlights of last night's game on First Take this morning. It went like this:

"We go back to baseball...Astros at the Giants, Top 6, Giants leading 3-1 with Barry Zito on the hill. (roll video of Berkman blast). And that's a home run to tie it at 3, tough break for Barry Zito, Astros go on to win 7-3.

It's one thing to completely ignore what Berkman is doing right now, but the anchor didn't even mention his name. Poor Barry Zito! Lance who?

This is ridiculous. Not just that they didn't talk about Berkman, but they they consider giving up a 400 foot bomb a "tough break". It's not like Berkman blooped one between a trio of fielders. Zito fell behind in the count and the hottest hitter in the game launched one. Poor, poor Barry.

And now it seems I can't even watch that without having to endure crap like their promo for the ESPN:60 show on Tejada this week, which said: "A trip to the Dominican Republic uncovers the secret and shadowy past of Miguel Tejada."

They must not be getting viewers for their shitty E:60 show if they're having to resort to stuff like this. I didn't even know the show was still on the air. They advertised it heavily when it first started, but I hadn't heard a word about it since until this stuff with Tejada.

Mets give up Carlos Gomez, Phil Humber, Kevin Mulvey and Deolis Guerra. Note that they managed to avoid giving up Fernando Martinez as well as Pelfrey.

In my opinion that is a much lesser package than that which was reportedly being bandied about by the Red Sox and Yankees during the winter meetings.

That's what I was thinking. Can anyone who has more minor league knowledge than myself shed some light on this? Are these Met prospects generally regarded as better than those offered by the Red Sox and Yankees?
