I want the road team to win every game.
At least thru game 6.
-
That truly is the best scenario among zero good ones.
-
Blosox cooking already.
Single, SB, rbi single/runner takes second on throw (review pending at 2nd).
-
I don't care, I hate both teams equally. But I like watching baseball so I might check out a few games. Not tonight though. I found more interesting things to do.
-
Leadoff walk in the 5th chases Sale with a 3-2 lead.
-
Boston gave up a run in the top of the 5th.
In the bottom, Kershaw probably gets screwed on a chopper over the 3B bag called foul. Batter walks. Dave Roberts excitedly makes his first pitching change. Boston loads them up, a FC (nearly a dp) and a single make it 5-3.
-
My white-hot hate has not fired it's most intense upon the team from Boston yet. It rages with blistering torridity for the LA fuck-faces. I hope they lose every game.

I didn't care who wins. I wanted a sweep so that we can get on with the void.
-
Yeah, baseball ended last week.
-
Dodgers' defense last night sealed the deal for me. I can't possibly root for such an inept team, especially when that same team employs Joc Pedersen and formerly employed Tommy LaSorda.

Freese was a butcher in the 2011 WS.
That first inning foul ball gaffe last night was lame.

5th inning, Ryu leaves after loading the bases.
Madson then walks in a run to tie the game, then gives up a2 run single to right.
That makes 35 of 67 postseason Boston runs scored with 2 outs.

The way Machado gloved that throw as if it were nothing special after it went through the runner's legs was impressive.

I'm perfectly happy to admit that all year Boston has fielded a superior team. But I don't know, the Dodgers puzzle me. They just don't seem all that great in any aspect of the game, and every time I watch them they seem unreasonably sloppy.

Pretty apt description.

Clearly, the AL is superior to the NL because, watching the Dodgers and Brewers, it’s hard to see either of them beating the Sox, Astros or Yankees.

Agreed.

It appears that Roberts, like Hinch, is also going to experience watching the Red Sox celebrate on his home turf.
The only question may be whether the Astros will have done more damage than the Dodgers.
-
Boston is a really good team playing really good baseball at the most important time they possibly could.
They're as impressive as their fans are insufferable.

If they are insufferable now, just wait until they are WS Champs.....

They're equally insufferable regardless of the situation, which is one reason it doesn't bother me all that much that they're going to win.
-
Game 3 is never going to end.
-
Buck doesn't know the rules of baseball
Kinsler's error with two out in the 13th allows the tying run to score.
Brutal.
-
I lasted thru the 11th.
What a game.
-
Both teams had errors that allow a run in the 13th.
9 pitchers for both teams.
Kershaw had an AB, but didn't pitch.
Looks like only Hill and Ryu didn't participate for the Dodgers.
Can't tell who sat out for the Red Sox because the At Bat boxscore currently has the LA roster listed under Boston's bench. Whoever is in charge of that probably feel asleep face first on his keyboard.

Red Sox used all but Sale and Pomeranz (was warming in 18th)

I read that that game was longer than the 1939 World Series.

Same with me. Then I went to baseball-reference.com and discovered that the four games in the '39 Series took just over 7 hours.

"Progress." Giant LED screens and velcro and next thing you know people want to start sticking runners on base to start innings.
I watched the whole thing. Not sure why.

It was a good baseball game. I'm not sure why people want, let alone expect, 18 innings of baseball to only take an hour and a half. You basically got two 1-run World Series games last night. I thought it was awesome.

I almost wish I hadn't gone to the movies. I plan on watching the first elimination game. In the meantime I just keep finding other things to do.

I am on record as not caring at all how long games last and completely opposed to these idiotic gimmicks designed to make it appear that game times are being contracted somehow.
I'm not sure why I watched to the end simply because I don't care who wins and I could watch the game any time I want. It didn't have to be three in the morning.
-
They should do it like the college game: both teams get the ball on the 25 then shoot free throws until someone misses.
That game just night illustrates why people shouldn't try to fuck with baseball.

After the 9th inning you have a homerun contest between coaching staffs

If nobody homers in three tries, you move out to the pitcher's mound and hit from there. No homers from there? You move out to 2nd base.
-
After reviewing the game story, I realized I missed seeing Roberts overmanage again and JBJ coming up with a big HR when needed. Seen all that before, wasn't that great the first time.
-
Mascot race. Fuck me, do I have to think of everything around here?
-
Rich Hill just drilled the Sox starting pitcher. A Dodger is going to get dotted before tonight's over.
-
I hope this game goes 17 innings and both teams have no idea who starts or relieves tomorrow. I want to see JD and Joc P be the pitchers of record.
-
I want to see Joc P serve as the doormat at a golf club.
-
Ooops. Everybody's favorite asshole -- Puig -- goes deep.
-

If there is anyone who can replace Ryan Braun as the biggest dick in baseball, it's Peterson.

Good story about the umpires last night. (https://sports.yahoo.com/heres-like-umpire-longest-postseason-game-mlb-history-021922114.html?soc_src=social-sh&soc_trk=tw)

Ryan Madson is not a dependable reliever.

Neither is Jansen.

You can depend on them to give up runs.

Dodger pen is a fucking train wreck.

Dodger pen is a fucking train wreck.
A train carrying toxic waste.
-
This Red Sox catcher is a fucking butcher.
-
Wonder if Eric Gange thinks Kimbrel is doing his pitches again.
-
What Puig, not gonna kiss your biceps now? You miserable fuck.
-
Sox jump out to a 2-0 lead on a home run by a former Astro. No, not that one, the other one.
-
I doubt that the Red Sox feel very comfortable with Price out there.
-
I doubt that the Red Sox feel very comfortable with Price out there.
Well, he’s thrown one pitch and only given up one run...
-
If you listen to Rich Hill, he's the most put-upon guy baseball.
-
RF stands there with his hands in the air and the ball lands 10 feet behind him and it's a triple.
-
Longball gonna bury Kershaw and the Dodgers.
-
If you listen to Rich Hill, he's the most put-upon guy baseball.
That story reeked to high heaven. I call BS.
-
If this holds up... does Price get consideration for WS MVP?
-

He would from me.
Although it's chickenshit to woof on the mound after your last plate appearances.
Then again Puig and Machado lead the universe in chickenshit.
-
Pearce or Price.
-
Fuckin' Redsox are pretty fuckin' good.
-

This should be the title to the WS video.
-
Red Sox win.
Fuck you Joc Pedersen. Fuck you Puig. Fuck you Machado.
-
Red Sox win.
Fuck you Joc Pedersen. Fuck you Puig. Fuck you Machado.
Don’t forget Kike.
-
Don’t forget Kike.
Yeah, don't want to forget him.
There are some good guys on that team. Clayton Kershaw is a prince of a guy, I feel for him. But fuck the Dodgers.

Having lived in NorCal for seven years and following the Giants very closely, the hatred between Giants fans and Dojers fans is deep seated and a thing to behold. Violence is not unusual, and these teams' fans travel.

And it goes way beyond NorCal/Socal. It's a Brooklyn v. Manhattan thing from the dawn of baseball history.

I would think your post somewhat hyperbolic but I recall a few years ago some serious head- injury inflicted on a fan of one of the teams by a punk, or punks, claiming to being fans of the other.

It was the Stowe incident I vaguely recalled. Man, that is bad shit.

Ask John Roseboro.

Exactly. And note the Roseboro reference earlier in the thread.

Ask John Roseboro.
This insight was shared in John Roseboro's obit:

.....'Our friendship is very good,'' Marichal said in 1990, on the 25th anniversary of the bat attack.
Roseboro told The Los Angeles Times on that occasion that he had begun speaking to Marichal in the early 1980's because he felt the violent episode was keeping Marichal -- a winner of 243 games -- out of the Hall of Fame unjustly.
''There were no hard feelings on my part, and I thought if that was made public, people would believe that this was really over with,'' Roseboro said. ''So I saw him at a Dodger old-timers' game and we posed for pictures together and I actually visited him in the Dominican. The next year, he was in the Hall of Fame.
''Hey, over the years you learn to forget things.''
