Anyone know what time Game 2 starts?
-
Anyone know what time Game 2 starts?
Now, apparently.
-
Miles Straw goes deep!
-
Just the 4th HR of Straw's professional career.
-
Can't do PBP but it's 1-0 Astros on a Straw HR top 1.
-
Who would have thought Straw would have a HR before Kyle Tucker?
-
Good glove on display there.
-
2 shift fuck singles and it's tied.
-
Altuve got sawed off /thrown out but he looked good chugging down the line again.
-
Nifty glove flip from Bregman to start that 6-4-3 dp.
-
Hopefully Tyler White will not play 1B in the postseason.

That bunt play was the definition of awkward.
-
That bunt play was the definition of awkward.
He’s slow, his footwork is awful, and he doesn’t know how to stretch. He’s just not comfortable there.
-
Hopefully Tyler White will not play 1B in the postseason.
And no Davis please, in any position.
-
Tyler White leaps (?) to complete the 6-3 groundout.
You could have easily slid the Luckenbach phone book over him.
-
Bregman walk, Yuli line drive single and its 2 on no outs for White.
-
White apparently doesn't check up and Ks.
Gattis singles to right loading the bases for McCann.
-
McCann pops out (IFR).
Jake up, still juiced. 2 outs.
-
Jake takes a 3-2 pitch low for ball 4.
Bregman scores.
2-1 Astros.
Tucker batting.
-
Come on Kyle!
-
Tucker flies out to center.
I'm off to the grocery store.
I'll see if I can pick up some runs for the Astros.
-
I love these in game interviews with Hinch. He’s so transparent and engaging.
-
Peacock is dealing. Lots of run on his FB to righties.

"Did you just let him call you 'coach'?"
"Yeah, I really don't listen to Blum when he talks."
The bit about his talk with Correa was great.
-
Been watching football. Why only three innings for Keuchel?
A scheduled thing, or injury?

White has reverted to White mode. Pop up central. No more Great White.

How in the world is the GZ this dead? The Astros are leading 2-1 in the 6th looking for a franchise best 103rd win.
-
McCannonball!!!!!!

Everything is ho-hum until Friday, I guess.
-
McCannonball!!!!!!
That was great.

I don't know about anyone else but I'm on my 12th hour working today. I'm keeping up.

I"m trying to figure out why my cluster hates me. No clues so far.
-
McCannonball!!!!!!
He makes it look so easy. I have to swing with all my might to poke one out. He just throws the bat out there.
For those not watching, he did a subtitle side-eye stare in the dugout and the whole team erupted in laughter. Classic

That’s funny. That one word keys me into what you do(ish). If they hate you, you’re doing something right as respect is the underlying factor. With that, you can change lives.

In reality, there isn't too much to be gained in these games other than a a few players finding a bit of form. Win or lose, I will be happy if we get to the end of the home and away without any drama. That said, I got up at 4:00 am to watch.
-

A true fan.
-
Sweet DP to end the inning. Great backhanded pick by Gurriel to start the around the horn DP.

I waited until 6 am, but yeah, I’m kind of ashamed of some of you yahoos.

I am struggling thru IPA #4 over 2 games here at 9:28pm EST in support of my team. The struggle is real...

You should go a beer per inning. Yes twin bills are a challenge, but sack up.

You didn't shoot down to Melbourne for the AFL grand final while you were in the neighborhood did you?
-
Tucker looks very AAAA’ish.
Altuve, not so much.
-
I would like to see a double steal.

Not now.

Not now.
No steals till Friday.

I did not, though I’ve been sitting around with my dick in my hand all weekend. Thought about going to Singapore or KL for the weekend, but with the earthquake and tsunami I’m glad I didn’t try to go anywhere.

Did you notice the quake?
-
Did you notice the quake?
Didn’t feel it here in Sumatra, but it fucked up communications all over the country.
-
No pressure, Lance.
-
2 on and Framber walks the bases loaded.
Lance in to pitch in a jam.
-
Let’s go Lance!!!
-
2 curves for strikes then he bounces the 3rd, dribbles way, run scores.
Gets the K swinging.
2 outs.

McCann didn’t smother that ball too well.
-
Lance looked suited for playoff bullpen duty there.
-
Lance looked good.
I think that was all curveballs.
-
Lance looked very good.

I think that was all curveballs.
First pitch to the last hitter was a fastball but I think that was the only one.
-
Wild pitch (which McCann should have blocked) aside, McCullers is filthy tonight.
-
Number 10 for Jake!
-
Who is the jacket guy?
-
Combo Homer Hug/Camera Stare on the celebration.
-
Who is the jacket guy?
Travels around. Took the ball from two girls there. Salty.
-
Who is the jacket guy?
He was in Detroit, and I think his jacket was hanging up in one of the field-view hotel rooms in Toronto.
-
Who is the jacket guy?
Julia interviewed him in Toronto earlier in the week. I'm not exactly sure who he is, but he's apparently been everywhere, and he even got some time in the batting cage (and his swing isn't too bad).
-
Who is the jacket guy?
Nguyen Li (http://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/21200614/houston-astros-superfan-nguyen-le-long-journey-baseball-fandom)
-
Pressly in for the 9th, up 5-2
-

Yeah, he stole that ball. Looks like a wanker to me.
-
Ok, guys, let's wrap this up.
-
103!!
-
103
-
103!
-
103!!
...where no Astro has gone before!
-
Woo Hoo!!
-
I think that I shall never see
A sight as lovely as 103
Unless of course they add 1 more
-
I got knocked out of the Race For The Lid, though...
-
It looks like chaos in the NL Central and NL West. I love it!
-
Lots of Astros fan ther in Baltimore
-
Yeah, he stole that ball. Looks like a wanker to me.
Yeah, I think he has an interesting story but he looks like a wanker to me too.
-
103!
-
I got knocked out of the Race For The Lid, though...
Gonna be either Ebby or Hostros.
-
Yeah, he stole that ball. Looks like a wanker to me.
I still get surprised by what some people will do to get there hands on a foul ball.
-
I am loving the NL West race, btw. Tomorrow will be fun.

Me too. Oh please, please, please, please let there be two ties after tomorrow.
-

I keep a few balls on my office shelf...a home run ball from the Dome, a college ball, and a couple from Denial League signed by my friends and teammates...interspersed with rocks and a drill bit. Sentimentality and all that, you know. But it’s a $4 baseball. Don’t be a dick about it.
-
It's hard to believe that, after all the GZ angst (much of it justified), this year's team set the franchise win record. Our expectations have gotten so high. The organization has come so far so quickly. What a remarkable time to be an Astros fan.

I was at Astros game at Camden Yard probably 15 years ago. I went to the bathroom and came out on the first base side, ignoring the “watch for batted balls sign“. As I walked back in to the lower bowl, there was a sharp foul ball that whacked me right in the chest. It hit me hard enough that I had a bruise with baseball seams on it for the next week. It hit me hard enough that it dazed me yet I was still able to pick the ball up. There were all these young kids scrambling around trying to grab the ball. I gave it to the closest kid. Grabbing a ball as a 40-year-old is a great thing. Giving it to the next generation is absolutely the right thing to do.

Well said.
Go Astros.
-
Good game in NY tonight. Mets walk it off in the 13th 1-0.
-
Me too. Oh please, please, please, please let there be two ties after tomorrow.
So, you want a playoff for the postseason.

I want a 163rd game in the Championship Season.
