Anyone know what time Game 2 starts?

Can't do PBP but it's 1-0 Astros on a Straw HR top 1.

He’s slow, his footwork is awful, and he doesn’t know how to stretch. He’s just not comfortable there.

Tyler White leaps (?) to complete the 6-3 groundout.

The bit about his talk with Correa was great.

He makes it look so easy. I have to swing with all my might to poke one out. He just throws the bat out there.

For those not watching, he did a subtitle side-eye stare in the dugout and the whole team erupted in laughter. Classic

In reality, there isn't too much to be gained in these games other than a a few players finding a bit of form.   Win or lose, I will be happy if we get to the end of the home and away without any drama.   That said, I got up at 4:00 am to watch.

I did not, though I’ve been sitting around with my dick in my hand all weekend. Thought about going to Singapore or KL for the weekend, but with the earthquake and tsunami I’m glad I didn’t try to go anywhere.

First pitch to the last hitter was a fastball but I think that was the only one.

Wild pitch (which McCann should have blocked) aside, McCullers is filthy tonight.

Who is the jacket guy?

He was in Detroit, and I think his jacket was hanging up in one of the field-view hotel rooms in Toronto.

Julia interviewed him in Toronto earlier in the week. I'm not exactly sure who he is, but he's apparently been everywhere, and he even got some time in the batting cage (and his swing isn't too bad).

I keep a few balls on my office shelf...a home run ball from the Dome, a college ball, and a couple from Denial League signed by my friends and teammates...interspersed with rocks and a drill bit. Sentimentality and all that, you know. But it’s a $4 baseball. Don’t be a dick about it.

It's hard to believe that, after all the GZ angst (much of it justified), this year's team set the franchise win record. Our expectations have gotten so high. The organization has come so far so quickly. What a remarkable time to be an Astros fan.

I was at Astros game at Camden Yard probably 15 years ago. I went to the bathroom and came out on the first base side, ignoring the “watch for batted balls sign“. As I walked back in to the lower bowl,  there was a sharp foul ball that whacked me right in the chest. It hit me hard enough that I had a bruise with baseball seams on it for the next week. It hit me hard enough that it dazed me yet I was still able to pick the ball up.  There were all these young kids scrambling around trying to grab the ball. I gave it to the closest kid. Grabbing a ball as a 40-year-old is a great thing. Giving it to the next generation is absolutely the right thing to do.
