Astros take a 2-1 lead in the 4th, but they butchered that catcher’s interference ruling. It’s not a dead ball. The Astros could have elected to take the play and scored the run there. Altuve did not have to go back to 3B. He scored the next hitter anyway, but that could have been a huge boner by Hinch.
-
Altuve out with a knee injury.

What happened? All I have is Gameday.

Just “discomfort” is the word now. Don’t know if it was anything specific. He wasn’t exactly on his horse on the double that should have been a triple.
-
What happened? All I have is Gameday.
He tweaked it trying to field a ground ball that turned into an infield single.
-
At the game tonight. If you haven’t been to this stadium do try. It’s one of my favorites.

I think it happened some time ago, and it's just been building. When Altuve didn't get to third on that ball in the RF gap, I think AJ decided he was going to give him some rest and hope that with the off day tomorrow he'll be feeling better Friday.
-
Oh you stupid motherfucker. Fucking idiot Astros fan.
-
Bregman triple turned into an out by idiot Astro fan. Way to represent.
-
Get the rope.
-
Kick that stupid fuck out.
-
I'm not sure that was going to be caught either way. What the fuck was that dildo thinking?
-
What a brainless shithead.
-
So if it's a Rockies fan, they can still get an automatic out on any tough play on the wall?
-
Easy chance to get an insurance run erased but that stupid motherfucker.
-
So if it's a Rockies fan, they can still get an automatic out on any tough play on the wall?
Good question. If the dude has a Rockies shirt, it’s likely a double and the Rockies’ fans are saying “kick that motherfucker out.”
-
I think it's a horseshit call either way
-
I think it's a horseshit call either way
So you propose to let idiot fans interfere with balls in play?
-
Kick him out, send Bregman back to second, whatever - seems strange that fan interference is a massive boon for the home team on a very questionable catch opportunity

That wasn’t you in left trying to catch Bregman’s ball was it????

That guy is really a deep state Rockies fan posing as an Astros fan. He has been waiting to complete his assignment all season.

Is someone warming up?

It has nothing to do with the home team. If a fan prevents a fielder from an opportunity to catch a fly ball, the batter is out, whether it’s the home team or road team.

Agent Dwayne? He looked like a Dwayne.

Also it's a known fact, Dwaynes always wear the visiting team's jersey.

One of Davis’ better plays.
Charlie!

I was afraid he wasn’t going to touch it foul and it kick back and hit the bag.
-
That fuckwad fan interference really sucked the wind out of the Astro Offense's sails.
-
I'll say one thing for Tucker: it seems to be hard to get him to chase those pitches in the dirt.
-
That call is going to be overturned; Tucker's going to be out.
-
Wow. They fucked up the replay on the stolen base by Tucker. Call should have been confirmed, let alone upheld. But overturned? Are they smoking crack in NY?

My thoughts as well. I had relaxed.
-
I didn't see conclusive evidence. Looked like the glove followed the shoe to the bag. I didn't see the glove flex as if it had connected with the shoe.
-
If you keep putting baserunners on, somebody is going to accidentally drive one of them in.
-
I can only dream of 60 degrees right now.

You settled. Never do that.

Because, Seattle. the marONRs.

He was out if the throw was on line.

That’s a tough way to allow the tying run.

Go sit the fuck down, Bud. You got your bullshit run on a 30 foot pop up.

He would have been toast if JD had thrown a catchable ball.
-
I can’t believe the umps didnt let all the runners score on further review

Without causing Stassi to leap, at least.

WTF is he arguing about?
-
WTF is he arguing about?
Probably pleading his case for some form of interference that would give everyone 90 more feet.
I don't know what the actual rule is, but I can't recall a play at the dugout fence that players haven't helped keep their guy (and sometimes even the other team) from going head first over the fence.
-
Blum had the same question I did: if Davis tumbles into the dugout, do all the runners get 90 feet?
-
Well, it’s a miracle the Astros are even tied - they’ve mustered all of one hit. ONE.
-
WTF is he arguing about?
If the runner had been thrown out, I could see him arguing that Davis was aided by players not on the field. But this was pretty much the definition of "no harm, no foul".

I suspect something along these lines.

Looked to me like he hurt his hip/abs - probably some pain on that throw that caused him to flinch.
-
Replay showed Gattis didn't realize the runner was going. He played JD on the side and was still in his airspace as he threw home.
-
How do you go into Coors and get one hit?
-

Yes.

Stassi sold the foul in the dirt.

So did McHugh with the way he turned his back and walked around the mound.

Outfield shiftfuck.

Outfield shiftfuck.
That's a relatively easy catch if they aren't shifted all the way over to Englewood.
-
Pretty fortunate that Hampson ball 1) stayed in the park and 2) didn't carom back toward center/RF.
-
#CFM also refers to McHugh.

Boy, the 1B and 3B umps must have an early flight. If you could've gone around, you went around tonight.

This is the worst all-around officiating I’ve seen this year

Yeah, Bregman got screwed there, but some Rockie got screwed exactly the same way earlier.

Ok blue, that makes us even for the foul ball in the dirt strikeout.

Yeah, they're been all around bad on check swings.

Tying run driven in on a foul pop-up caught 45 feet from home plate.
-
Has there ever been no hitter at coors field?
-
The winning hit traveled a little further, however.
-
Only good thing about this game ending is we should be done with eschenfelder.
-
Well, filled that one under P for pissed away.
What a shitburger of a game from the offense.
-
That sucked.

And no longer tied. Last night’s goat walks it off.

1 hit.
Pathetic, but rest up tmw and get back at it Friday.

It's not like they've been stinking up the joint lately, but they need to wake up and shake those clubs behind them in the standings. The A's pull out another and inch a bit closer.
-
That fuckwad fan interference really sucked the wind out of the Astro Offense's sails.
that's the 3rd x this season Fan Interference has effected an Astros game. The two previously at MMP. (1) fan catching a FB from Piscotty of the A's that Stassi hit. (2) Kemp's double down the RF line that kept a second run from scoring. The one where the wife chewed the dumbass out before the usher removed him.
-

imho: The last thing the Astros need right now is for Bergman to get suspended for pulling a "Giles" (https://www.reuters.com/article/us-baseball-mlb-hou-bregman-rant/astros-bregman-issues-foul-mouthed-rant-over-replay-reversal-idUSKBN1KG0PF), leaving the Astros without one of their best hitters any time, but especially during the offensive struggles.
Fan interference and bad calls happen, and are out of a player's control. But, for the sake of the team, Berkman Bergman (TY, BUDGIRL for the edit) needs to control his emotions as well as he controls the strike zone. He needs to protect his at bats and take his swings. He is worthless on the bench.
That's exactly where the other AL contenders want him.

Rule 3.16
When there is spectator interference with any thrown or batted ball, the ball shall be dead at the moment of interference and the umpire shall impose such penalties as in his opinion will nullify the act of interference.
APPROVED RULING: If spectator interference clearly prevents a fielder from catching a fly ball, the umpire shall declare the batter out.
Rule 3.16 Comment: There is a difference between a ball which has been thrown or batted into the stands, touching a spectator thereby being out of play even though it rebounds onto the field and a spectator going onto the field or reaching over, under or through a barrier and touching a ball in play or touching or otherwise interfering with a player. In the latter case it is clearly intentional and shall be dealt with as intentional interference as in Rule 3.15. Batter and runners shall be placed where in the umpire’s judgment they would have been had the interference not occurred.

They went 8 innings Tuesday without a hit, and managed 1 official hit last night. With Arlington coming to town, let's hope we see some barrels on balls from the home team.
And eventually a healthy Correa should help.
-
I think Hinch probably told him that last night.

TY for your polite response. Bergman is so wired b/c he is trying to carry the team right now...

I thought his behavior on the field was pretty cool, all things considered. The bullshit check swing call was questionable at best, and the 1st and 3rd base umps had been pretty brutal all game. Bregman was already on his way to the dugout when Hinch came out to get him.
His post-game interview rant, on the other hand, the world probably could've done without.
-
In a revolting development, Odor is en fuego right now: .400+ BA, 1.100 OPS. I really don't want to see his punk-ass do well this weekend.

Even worse call in the TB game tonight I think, I don't remember them taking so long on such an easy call and still fuck it up. Choi had a what looked like a home run taken away because of fan interference, it was a horrible call I think. I don't blame the umps for not getting right in the first place but why use replays if you get it wrong in the end anyway?
