SS Correa
C Gattis
2b Gonzalez
1b Reed
CF Gomez
LF Marisnick
P McHugh
Twins:
Pending
Note that Altuve is out - no explanation.
-
No Altuve. That isn't good for a club needing to start a winning streak.
-
On McTaggart's twitter, it appears that Jose is just being given a day of rest.
-
Surprised. Doesn't he have the longest consecutive games streak in the majors?

202. Not exactly Ripken.

I can think of roughly 12 guys I would give a day off before Altuve tonight.

He looked pretty tired in his pregame interview McTag posted.
-
On the radio last week AJ said he has been looking to give Jose and Carlos a day off. I'd guess we see Carlos get a day off later this series depending how things are going.

Not to mention, loads of different candidates for him to pinch-hit for in the later innings, so he may extend his streak anyway.
-
I can think of about 7 or 8
-
Man, the Twins have to be kind of pissed about that inning.
-
I'm trying to think of an outfielder that I have ever seen that I know for a fact was better than Jake.

I'm trying to think of an outfielder that I have ever seen that I know for a fact was better than Jake.
People may say Maddox or Jones, but I'm not convinced that they could get to anything that Jake couldn't.
-
This funk has to end sometime, it might as well be tonight.
-

Give me Michael Bourn in his prime.

Bo Jackson probably could.
-
Man did we bring the big lumber tonight or what?
-
Give me Michael Bourn in his prime.
Bourn could go and get anything, but Jake's arm can charge it up to near triple digits from the OF.
Gomez should not be in CF when Jake is playing

What the fuck Gomez

Gomez.

Gomez, not again?!?!?!?!

What happened?

Cut him

What happened?
Gomez

I can easily name one who is not.
-
No matter what the excuse will be about losing that in the lights, dipshit sprinted in 4 steps on a fly that bounced a few feet short of the track.

I echo what McHugh said.

Colin: "What the fuck is he doing?"
-
Cut him
Yeah, what does he bring to the table? Nothing.
-
Well I'd say that one is on ice. Three runs will do it against us these days.
-
Hilarious. This organization's arrogance is absolutely hilarious.
-
If I had a Time-Turner, I'd go back and make sure that Gomez cleared his physical with the Mets.
After that, I might think about doing something about Hitler.

Damn.. Nice.
-
Well that escalated quickly.
-
Yeah, what does he bring to the table? Nothing.
Marisnick needs to be in center every game. Yuli (assuming he can play OF as reported) in left asap. Kemp can play out there when match-ups/rotations warrant.
-
Gomez could stand in the middle of Fifth Avenue and shoot someone and the Astros would sign him to an extention

That's shitty

If he could hit someone.

There's no way Gomez could hit somebody.

I still don't understand why anyone acts like this is a possibility, much less a fait accompli.

Luhnow is not doubling down on Gomez by resigning him. He has publicly stated that he's been disappointed with that trade, although not in such direct terms.
-
On top of all of that Cy Duffey is dialed in!

Joking. Gomez is more likely to get the A Rod treatment than get re-signed.
-
The offseason bidding war for Gomez might leave a low payroll team like the Astros on the outside looking in.
-
By the way, I support a third party outfielder.

What's the minimum qualifying offer? Three bucks?

I think the union might even agree in this situation.

Gattis strikes out on a ball that bounces. Again.

Marisnick's play to almost nab Sano was phenomenal in all aspects.

Nice heads up play by Correa.

He would have struck out even if the ball was rolled instead of thrown

I had just about forgotten how April made me feel. Thanks, guys.

It will for me, I have to go to Kalgoorlie for the rest of the week.

Anyone want to guess what Villar is batting in Milwaukee right now?

Go for it.

I thought you were going to tell us?

But he no longer had a spot in Houston, so I don't feel bad about that. That's the way it goes sometimes.

If you're positing a hindsight is 20-20 post, why stop there? KK would certainly be an upgrade over the 1B/DH merry go round of suck this season.

Left handed?
With a tree branch?

He also ran around the field like his pubes were on fire.
-
With a tree branch?
No, his sisters wooden leg.
-
The slightly more annoying comparison is Gattis vs Carter, but it's hard to fault anybody for that one, either.

Not PVC?

We should have drafted Mike Trout.

Or Kris Bryant.

No, bats have to be made of wood, there are rules...

Particularly when you weigh in that they had plans to slot Gattis in at back-up catcher. I would not have let Carter walk for nothing, however. There was room to maneuver on the 25 man.

Right.

Or Kris Bryant.
Jeter over Nevins.
-
It hurts.

Gattis takes issue with fastballs half an inch inside at the knees but muff dives on sliders in the dirt like they are Kate Upton.

That's very poetic.

Lame.
Yeah but we're you expecting something else?
-
1 run against a starter with a 6+ ERA.

that's the least surprising stat about Villar to me. He has a higher SLG % than Correa and is tied for the NL lead in SBs with Hamilton with 43. Dealt for Cy Sneed.
-
Yeah but we're you expecting something else?
I was expecting to win more than we lose, but that hasn't been the case lately.
