I'm super jealous. Have fun!

You're in SD? We went a couple of years ago. Gorgeous park indeed, TV doesn't do it justice.
-
lucky does not seem enough of a word

-
Altuve is hitting .120 since the ASB.
-
This is a complete kick ass park. Gorgeous!
Wait, you're on the left coast and you're not even going to trek 'a few miles' up the 101 to visit?!? I SERIOUSLY hope for your sake that is NOT the case...
-
This guy has been brutal to the Astros. Hopefully, our first frame is not a harbinger of things to come.
-
This guy Amarista can play.
-
Well, that didn't take long. Fuck.
-
Altuve is hitting .120 since the ASB.
Reason eleventy-threeve my fantasy team is tanking.
-
Hope Harrell is okay. Those comebackers off the legs hurt like a motherfucker.
-

What are you going to do about it?
-
You're in SD? We went a couple of years ago. Gorgeous park indeed, TV doesn't do it justice.
There are things I miss, like fowl poles but I could get over it.
-
What are you going to do about it?
I am petty and vindictive. I'll think of something!
-
Don't think JD would have avoided being doubled off on that liner, but I would have still preferred to see him freeze on the liner and then bust it back.
-
Nicely done by Altuve.
Apropos of nothing, I would dearly love to see a pitcher named Beowulf face Grendal.
-
Nicely done by Altuve.
That WAS sweet indeed!
-

While I can't fault him there, he's not the best base runner at I've ever seen.
-
Harrell with an easy frame. 1-0 Top 3. I'm worried about one run standing up tonight.
-
Who on this team is a good base runner?
-
Volquez with a nasty change piece to finish off Harrell.
-
High strike zone tonight. Both of these guys keep the ball down, so I don't know who that favors.
-
Nice throw by Snyder guns down Amarista.
-
The Nissan Grease spot is fucking horrible.
-
Who on this team is a good base runner?
Altuve does his best.
-
The Nissan Grease spot is fucking horrible.
Tell me more, tell me more.
-
Altuve does his best.
If only he could remember to always cover first.
-
Good or bad if I got to see a no-hitter in person?
-
Good or bad if I got to see a no-hitter in person?
You'd remember it forever.
-
Who on this team is a good base runner?
Castro is very good. He reads balls off the bat quickly an accurately.
-
A hit!!!
-
Well, fuck. We wasted our hit. I don't know if we'll get any more.
-
If headley is mike schmidt, CJ has to at least be, um, Todd zeile?
-
If headley is mike schmidt, CJ has to at least be, um, Todd zeile?
By that, I mean to suggest that luhnow has to test the market for him if it truly is a sellers market at third, right? Id rather see paredes there anyways.
-
Volquez is on his game, which is bad news for us..
-
Burger Dump is NOT barbeque, morons! That is all.
-
Get the ball down, Harrell.
-

I imagine he is testing, but who is going to fall for that. CJ has become somewhat of a basket case at the plate: weird little tics, talking to himself, mumbling at the umps as he walks back to the dugout after another K.
-

If someone invited me to a barbeque and took me to BK, I would be protected by state law when I bludgeoned them to a coma.
-

Is there some sort of curse on our third base bag that causes this?
-
Volquez has had two very buntable pitches and let them go for strikes.
-
Harrell pitches around traffic. Still 1-0.
-
Good at bat by Gonzalez.
-
0-17 and he hoses marwin on the steal
-
Gonzalez is the first stealer that Grandal has thrown out. He had been 0-17. Fuck.
-
Good at bat by Gonzalez.
Yeah, a lot of guys have laid off breakers in the dirt. Kind of surprising to me, but it still hasn't helped in scoring runs.
-

Nope. I fear that we're not going to get anything off of Volquez. OUR ONLY CHANCE IS TO RUN UP HIS PITCH COUNT AND GET INTO THE BULLPEN.
-
Damn. Harrell looks good tonight. Too bad he's up against Volquez, who has never lost to the Astros.
-
Boy, that's a big zone for Violquez. He doesn't need any help.
-
Why would Mills call a hit and run on the first pitch when this guy never throws first pitches for strikes?
-
Not sure if the numbers back my claim up, but this Astros offense seems historically bad. They flirt with being no hit almost weekly, and it feels more regular than that. I can only imagine the sentiment in the clubhouse.
-
Another 1 2 3 inning for Volquez. 1-0 Bottom 7
-
Harrell matches Volquez. 1-0 Top 8
-
What happened to the What-a-Burger spots?
-

They're not historically bad, they're just fine, they'll win their share of games, they have a lot of peppy guys who are fun to watch, you're a negativist, the outstanding drafts that the team had under the last FO will show up and shine soon, etc etc etc.
/shlong gorvelling necks that I have no time to ague with anymore
What they really need to worry about in the clubhouse is playing at a level to fucking keep their major league jobs because there is not a one of them who would play on a good team. I said this earlier in the year and the SGNs wanted to argue with me.
-
Nice swing, Schreefer. Thanks for playing.
-
The Braves have 20 awesome pitching prospects and Wade gets Schafer in return for an All Star CF. Yet Wade did a great job with the hand he was dealt. Just like Morey.
-
Fuck the wave. Fuck the fucking wave.
-
Bogusevic pinch hitting for Harrell. Cue Geezerdonk with a smart ass quip. 1-0 Bottom 8. WW on to pitch.
-

Tell us how you really feel about Wade.

It's not what I feel about Wade it's what I feel about the SGNs who defended the pencil dicked PR man during his tenure when anyone could see he was wrecking the franchise.
-
They don't sell beer in the seats.
-
This Amarista is going to be an all-star one day once they find him a spot to play regularly. I like him over Altuve.
-

Dude... Matt Albers is still getting relief appearances for the Red Sox and their has to be at least one reliever that is as good as Albers... Just saying...
-

Get your ass up.

Dude, I am seriously going to have to punch you in the nose if I ever get around to meeting you...

I was thinking about this after the fact and conceded to myself that a guy like Wesley Wright could probably find a spot.
-
What happened to the What-a-Burger spots?
Narrator died of throat cancer.
-
They don't sell beer in the seats.
That is un-American.
-
What kind of bullshit is this? Get Street in the game!
-
Narrator died of throat cancer.
Seriously?
-
Seriously?
I don't know. It seems likely, though.
-
I feel like the fucking Harbinger of Death, but Robert Creamer died today too.
-
Get your ass up.
I was making an observation.
-
Nasty changeup to finish off Gonzalez.
-

Too?

Too?
Yes. Tom Davis. I posted it in B&Q.

Quoting this comment as a memento. Not sure you've ever conceded any comment I've made before or will ever do so again!!!

Dude, no way I can get to San Diego and get warmed up to pitch before the T9 is over...
-
Dude, I am seriously going to have to punch you in the nose if I ever get around to meeting you...
You might get your chance on August 8. But be fore-warned, I bleed everywhere.
-
Yes. Tom Davis. I posted it in B&Q.
Tom Davis ... Al Franken's former partner?
-
So, Matt Downs continues to rake. Good to hear.
-
Well that was fun.
-
Tom Davis ... Al Franken's former partner?
Yes. I encourage you to read the NY Times obit but more importantly, the amazing post he did that I also linked to.

You might want to bookmark this page, yes.
As everyone knows the team is in very real danger of eclipsing the worst road record, ever. If they find someone to take Wandy I would consider this a foregone conclusion.
-
One hit, one god damn hit....
-
One hit, one god damn hit....
You saw the hit, right? It's what Schafer tries to do every at bat. Maybe he should take a mighty swing at it like Downs did and then beat out the dribbler.
-
Harrell with an easy frame. 1-0 Top 3. I'm worried about one run standing up tonight.
With any other team, I'd wonder if you had a crystal ball, but...
-
Is there some sort of curse on our third base bag that causes this?
Yes, but I can't find the post. But Pravata warned us about the dead marmot years ago.
-

I'm having trouble comprehending how bad it's going to get next season.
-

I feel like the hitting will be slightly better next year. The big question is the pitching. Wandy and Myers are likely gone, and Bud has taken a huge backward tumble this year. And no one looks that ready in AAA/AA beyond Keuchel, who's not a savior.
-

You'd have a point if I hadn't ripped the deal as it happened and continuously since. But since you don't have a point, just go fuck yourself.

How is Clemens looking?

How is Clemens looking?
April: 2.05

June: 5.86
July: 8.78
Season: 6.66
Bad.

Thanks. That is bad. The last I'd heard were the April numbers. Maybe he's more suspect than prospect? What's been his problem? Location? Command? They're obviously hitting him pretty hard to rack up those types of numbers.

His work this year is so completely different than any other year I'm wondering if he's hiding an injury.

I only saw one game, but he essentially had no secondary pitches. His fastball worked OK, but nothing to complement it.
-

Wouldn't be surprising at all. He was getting some great reviews during spring training, and something has obviously changed since then.
-
There is always the chance they've changed his mechanics and....nah. He was the most talked about pitching prospect during ST. Something's amiss.
-
I don't think he is injured. He probably progressed through the lower minors on his fastball alone. Now it's caught up to him. Wouldn't be the first time.
-

Except that his first three starts this year were great. Then he missed two weeks and came back not the same.
-
Luhnow saw Oberholtzer pitch earlier this month in OKC and he tweeted that he would be a ML pitcher. He must have seen him on one of his good days as he's been up and down but Keuchel struggled when he first went to AAA and it came together this year. I haven't given up on he or Clemens yet.
-

Certainly leads credence to your claim, but it hard for me to imagine an injury that they are aware of and is causing him problems, yet they haven't let him shut it down and heal.
Re: Oberholzer. He's another I have seen and would be damn surprised to see him as a major league starter. Though he is younger than Clemens and is a lefty.
