I might be the only one, but I still laugh every time I see that.
Is August really almost half over already? Unbelievable. Before you know it we're all going to be going, "Hey, what the hell happened to baseball season?"

Dang, Jason, that would've been a great snag to keep Hillenbrand from getting that triple...
-
Albers at 98 pitches, just gave up 2 runs in the bottom of the 7th, leaving the game now that he walked the last batter.
Score now 7-3 Astros
-
Dang, Jason, that would've been a great snag to keep Hillenbrand from getting that triple...
Listening to the LA radio announcers just for a change... at first it almost sounded like Lane misplayed it but as they went over it and over it again it sounded more and more like what you posted.
I don't know shit, but Lane has been better in CF than I thought he'd be. I think it was that OWA-approved site BP that said something a couple of years ago along the lines of, Lane's biggest problem as an outfielder is that he doesn't look good doing it... but he usually gets the job done.
-
bottom of the 7th.......

Twinkie goes down, El Caballo up
Damn... Lee grounds to 2nd, double play to get first Bruntlett, then him, out
Bottom 9th coming up, hold 'em Astros... this is no time to have a meltdown (not that there IS a time)
-
Bloody hell, Ethier just whacked a double up the right field line... Luke grabbed it and slipped, but held him at 2nd

Pinch hit RBI single for Sweeney right past a diving Elvis, what's-his-name that was on 3rd (gimme a break, it's midnight) scores
Garner visits the mound and makes an AT&T call to the bullpen for Lidge
Score 7-4 Astros
Come on, y'all, do not squander a 6-run inning
-
Furcal bunts, foul (Dodgers on 1st and 2nd)
Gar argues that when Furcal bunted the ball, he was outside the batter's box and the ball hit him, home plate ump says no way, Gar jogs quietly back to dugout

astros 7
dodgers 4 final
only how many more west coast games to go?
-
Pierre up
WOW
Pierre popped up behind the plate, Ausmus grabbed it, 2 outs
Ausmus turns and notices that Sweeney is standing on SECOND base, then guns to Berkman, who is jumping up and down on FIRST base waving his hands, and the game is over, much to the surprise of the Dodgers*
FINAL: Astros 7, Kent and crew 4
Astros 7 10 0
Dodgers 4 10 1
*Brown's comment: "Sweeney apparently had a 'brain crap' and got caught off the base. We just don't understand where the heck he was going." (essentially)
JD: "Well, it shouldn't happen to anybody, but Mark Sweeney's been in this game a long, LONG time..."
They showed the replay of the game-ending double play from the viewpoint of the camera in the ground next to first base... for whatever reason, Sweeney just jogged over to second during that foul pop by Pierre, and stood there before realizing he was in the wrong place. He started running back to first, but hadn't made it halfway when Ausmus threw to Berkman. Looked rather sheepish as he was taking off the batting helmet, he did.
-
Yeah, that's what I meant.
Good job with the PBP, BatGirl. I enjoyed it.
-
only how many more west coast games to go?
2 in LA, 3 at the Friary

Some of Berkman's baserunning essence must have rubbed of on Sweeney during the chat session.
-
Eue de Twinkie.
-
were three people doing pbp or was there an echo in there last night?
-

He runs like a cart horse, but he gets good breaks so he generally gets to what he's supposed to get to. Makes the correct throw too, and given time gets in a good position to make the correct throw.
The anti-PENCE!!!, if you will.
Of all the Astros who've graced the outfield this season, he's the best.

Saved the game temporarily on Sat. with a running catch into the gap in the 7th. Had he had his glove on his left hand he'd have never made the catch.

thanks! my first time to do an entire game...and a freaking west coast one, at that.
