berkman hits a liner to left - he's on 1st with no one out
carlos shits a towering popup - that drops in front of pierre- runners on 1st and 2nd
luke scott walks....i'm not hearing "crazy train" at dodger stadium
one run scores, as lamb hits a grounder to the first baseman - the throw to 2nd was high.....only one out
and...the replay shows that carlos actually wasn't out because pierre never touched the bag
jason lane comes in andhits into a textbook dp

Listening to the LA radio announcers just for a change... at first it almost sounded like Lane misplayed it but as they went over it and over it again it sounded more and more like what you posted.

I don't know shit, but Lane has been better in CF than I thought he'd be. I think it was that OWA-approved site BP that said something a couple of years ago along the lines of, Lane's biggest problem as an outfielder is that he doesn't look good doing it... but he usually gets the job done.

Ausmus turns and notices that Sweeney is standing on SECOND base, then guns to Berkman, who is jumping up and down on FIRST base waving his hands, and the game is over, much to the surprise of the Dodgers*

*Brown's comment: "Sweeney apparently had a 'brain crap' and got caught off the base. We just don't understand where the heck he was going." (essentially)

They showed the replay of the game-ending double play from the viewpoint of the camera in the ground next to first base... for whatever reason, Sweeney just jogged over to second during that foul pop by Pierre, and stood there before realizing he was in the wrong place. He started running back to first, but hadn't made it halfway when Ausmus threw to Berkman. Looked rather sheepish as he was taking off the batting helmet, he did.

He runs like a cart horse, but he gets good breaks so he generally gets to what he's supposed to get to. Makes the correct throw too, and given time gets in a good position to make the correct throw.

The anti-PENCE!!!, if you will.

Of all the Astros who've graced the outfield this season, he's the best.

Saved the game temporarily on Sat. with a running catch into the gap in the 7th. Had he had his glove on his left hand he'd have never made the catch.
