Caribbean Update

Here is the weekly update from the Caribbean leagues. We hope to know the rosters of the Puerto Rico teams by next week to see if any Astros farm hands land there.

VENEZUELA
Leones del Caracas
Jose Lopez, C – has not played
Cesar Quintero, OF – is hitting .300 through is first 7 games. Has 6 runs already. Also has 7 K’s in 20 AB.

Caribes del Anzotegul
Josh Miller, RHP – had his second start of the season this week. He scattered 3 hits over 4 innings allowing no runs, or walks. He dropped his ERA to 2.19.
Paul Estrada, RHP – has not played
Fernando Nieve, RHP – has not played

Navegantes del Magallanes
Richie Paz, IF – thru 11 games, .125 (4/32) with 7 K.
Wladamir Sutil, IF – appeared in 2 games, 2 AB no hits, 1 K.
Nick Regilio, RHP – 5 appearances, 7 IP, 0 Runs allowed, 2 BB/7K

Aquilas de Zulia
Humberto Quintero, C – has not played

Bravos de Margarita
Felipe Paulino, RHP – has not played

Tigres de Aragua
Kyle Middleton, RHP – through two starts (10 2/3 IP), 0.84 ERA, 6 hits, no walks and 5 Ks

DOMINICAN REPUBLIC
Aqilas Cibaenas
Sergio Severino, LHP – through 6 appearances (3 IP) he has a 9.00 ERA. He has given up 5 hits (1 HR) and 4 BB while striking out 3.

Fernando Abad, LHP – 2/3 IP, 1 hit, nothing else

Tigres del Licey
Sammy Gervacio, RHP – 4 2/3 IP in relief, 2 hits, 2 earned runs 2 walk, 1 HB, 5 K.
Yordany Ramirez, OF – After scoring his first 3 runs without the benefit of a hit, he has started getting the balls to fall in for him. He is now 3 for 15 (.200) with one stolen base. He has not walked any and has struck out 3 times.
