Sutton Shows Off For Brass, Lex Walks Off With Win Again, Dueces Wild for G’ville 2nd Bagger Altuve

Posted on August 22, 2008 by Duman in From the Bus Stop

It was a pretty good night on the farm. Salem had the night off but four of the other five teams came away with wins.

Round Rock got a five run 8th to pull away from Nashville 9-4. Val Majewski had the big blow with a 3 run shot.

Corpus Christi got a solid start from Casey Hudspeth and Drew Sutton hit a homer as a part of a 3 for 4 night in front of the Astros big wigs in town.

“Either way, whether I’m here or in (Class AAA) Round Rock, there are the same things I need to work on, getting more consistent defensively is the big thing I need to work on right now,” Sutton said.

“It’s nice to play well when they’re here, but you try not to keep that in your mind. Honestly, I’m just happy to get a win because it hasn’t been the most fun to come to the park the past week or so because we haven’t been playing well.”

Tip Fairchild survived a shaky 9th to earn his first pro save.

Lexington won in walk off fashion for the second night in a row. Chris Jackson hit a 3 run homer with 2 outs in the 9th to give the Legends a 7-5 victory.

Tri Cities pitchers only gave up 4 hits on the night. Their offense only got one. The result is a 3-0 shutout loss.

Greeneville’s Kyle Greenwalt got his sixth win of the season. He gave up 5 hits and no walks in 6 innings shut out innings of work. Jose Altuve went 2 for 4 with two doubles, two RBI and two runs scored to lead the offense in G’ville’s 5-1 victory. They have now won 3 of their last 4 games.
