Easley flies out to Pence.

LoDuca singles up the middle.

Beltran (still getting booed) hits into a 6-4-3 DP.

Ok, I gotta get to work, someone else can take over for now, I will try to get back later if needed.

If nothing else, Hunter sure must be making his Momma proud! *wink, wink*

'Course, she probably already very proud of him to begin with.

The Link

Top of the 5th now according to ESPN.com.  no score.

Yahoo still has the game in the 3rd inning though.  I'd go with Yahoo.

Glavine still pitching

Ausmus -  bouncer up the middle, base hit

Biggio - 5-4-3 double play

Pence - TRIPLE!!! mama's HAPPY!

Berkman - Walks

Lee - (Milo has his own statistician today, son Mark.) flew out to first. (Milo needs a place to work out, he can't work out there because he is not a player. Maybe someone can help him out?)

Really do have to go...just had to hang around for this one.

Pence is this year's Scott. resist the temptation, Purp.

mid-season form: single, triple, walk...but no runs

I was just thinking the same thing.  So, who do you think will be the right fielder and backup fielder will be? Scott and Lane?

that's my guess.

i also think Pence must start the season in RR to see if he is for real. if they keep him on the big club, like Scott, he will have to play every day. who goes to make that happen?

LoDuca - smash to first, Berkman falls down (what else is new?), gets the ball to Borkowski covering, one down.

Beltran - walks (proudly I might add)

Alou - lines a double to left centerfield, Beltran races around the bases like the gazelle that he is and scores.

Green - Fly ball to right, two down, Alou stays put at second base.

Methusela (sp?) Franco - Infield hit to the hole, Everett knocks it down to save the run (for now).  Man on third, man on first, two out.

Sandy "Grease" Alomar - 3-2 count (Borkowski is around the plate apparently, but not on the black) and.... he walks.  Bases loaded, two out.

Mike Carp (really?  Carp?  Awesome!) - Met's top prospect (according to Raymond, maybe he hasn't heard of Lastings Milledge), hits a deep fly ball to center, three run double over the head of Burke.  Even Franco and Alomar can score on a 410' bomb.

??? (Raymond said his name too quickly) - FO to left, Hunter Pence there, inning over.

Mets: 3 hits, 4 runs, two men fight over the dugout oxygen mask.

So, I am at work and cannot listen to the game.  MLB box score says we scored 2 runs with no RBI.  Can anyone explain what happened? Balked a runner in?

Thanks.

Bases were loaded by way of walk and a couple of singles.  Hidalgo up to bat, there is one away.  He promptly looks at a called third strike.  That leaves it up to young Josh Anderson to pick up the team.  He hits a weak ground ball to first, however he breaks his bat during the swing.  That bat head flying out to the Met's first sacker enough to allow the ball to innocently get by him.  Two runs score, Anderson gets second base out of it, however I'm not sure he was awarded a hit on the play.  There was a balk early in the inning on the walk.

Truth be told, the Astros should've been shut out today, plenty of chances to score, many weak ABs while trying to pick up the run.  Even Anderson should've been an out, so he got lucky.  On the other hand, some pretty good pitching performances from Moehler and Estrada (again) today.

Paulo has 'em baffled with his Mike Scott imitation out on the mound.

Thanks, box score gives Carp the error so no hit for Anderson.

Hidalgo, in the midst of an 0-13 run is disapointing, though not overly suprising.  If he doesn't make the big club out of spring training, does his minor league contract delegate him to AAA no matter what or can he be cut loose all together if he coninues like this?
