OWA Opening Day
« on: February 07, 2007, 09:42:23 pm »
I'm sure everyone is excited about Opening Day as I am, and I hope that we can have another OWA Opening Day Eggstravaganza.  However, unforunately, I will not be able to be the bag man for tickets as I have in the past.  If anyone is wanting to jump in and save the day, please speak up.  You can pm me if you need some details of what I've done the last few years.
The rules of distinction were thrown out with the baseball cap.  It does not lend itself to protocol.  It is found today on youth in homes, classrooms, even in fine restaurants.  Regardless of its other consequences, this is a breach against civility.  A civilized man should avoid this mania.

Just bought a pair for OD. Amazingly enough I've yet to make a game at the (not so) new stadium, so I thought I'd rectify that this year.

I knew I was going to need at least 3 (ended up getting 6) so I was going on my own this year.

Notice no one cares about softball?

See you guys Opening Day, I'll be in section 328.

so, after all these years, you bailed on the group?

so no TZ gathering this year?

Alkie does. He went 5x5 20 years ago by bunting every time. There's no bunting in slo-pitch!

Call me when you folk want to get  serious about playing.

I won't be the bag man, but if a group is being assembled for OD then I am in.  Pretty much have the divorce behind me and am ready to be involved again this upcoming season.

I'm in if there's a group.  However, as I have a wife, and she likes to shop, I also cannot bagman for the game.

If anyone else does however, get a ticket for me.

I just nabbed 2 view deck tickets.

Anybody want to trade?

I would kill to sit Field Box or Bullpen. My girlfriend is flying in from DC for opening day, somebody take pity. I'll pay face for them and give you my tickets.

Nah, I doubt I'll get more than "fuck you" as a response. At least I'm going at all, this is my first time.

Get there early and sit at the bar in centerfield.  You'll be right by the bullpen and will have better beer selection anyway.

I always thought the stools were reserved...

Would an hour early give us a reasonable shot at seats?

Tables are reserved, stools are wide open (at least they always have been in the past).  One hour might do the trick, but on opening day nothing is guaranteed.  Worth a shot though.  If nothing else, you always have your regular seat guaranteed.

Opening day the gates open 2 hours before the game and there is usually a mad dash for those stools. If you want a shot at them I would be standing in line at the centerfield door when the gates open. Good luck!!!

When do tix go on sale?  I can be the bag-man this year (even have a PayPal account now, if that's the preferred option).  However, I'm out of pocket for the next couple of weeks, so I won't be able to book anything until late Feb.

You know what, I'm gonna go early at my own leisurely pace, take in some BP maybe, relax with a beer, and enjoy the game. The important thing is that I'll be there for opening day. Thanks man!

PM me and I'll give you the info on who I've dealt with for group tickets the last few years.  I definitely want to go and hope we can still get together.  I just don't have time to keep track of it all and collect dinero this year.

How so?  I'm doing quite fine thank you.  Any problems that I had on the homefront were certainly not caused by anybody here.

I remember the "fine young ladies" that you are referring to.  That was hilarious.  Good times.

Once again, if somebody is ordering tix, then put me down for two.  UTL has a fine new lady friend.  Added bonus:  This one is an Astros fan!  Not a hardcore fan, but she is teachable.

It had taken a year and a half, but I had finally managed to forget about that one girl. Tonight, I will have to resume drinking myself to sleep.

Realise that I was waaaay to adventurous in offering to bag it this year.  I'm out of the country for the next few day and then out of State.

I suck, but at least I apologise.
