Who are the only two Astros to drive in the game winning run by being hit by a pitch?

I remember Reeshard doing it once, but don't remember when.

Yep, Hidalgo indeed had a plunk-off in 1998. Who else?

Ok, gonna go out on a limb and pick the all-time HBP leader in Biggio.  Any luck?

Your limb broke. Pigpen has never won a game with a HBP.

That was against the Mets, right? I remember making fun of a Mets-fan friend of mine in college about that, but many of my college memories are either woefully incomplete or occurred in alternate realities.

No, but he was a teammate of Jim R.

Hidalgo's was against the Phillies and pitcher Mark Leiter. You're on the right track for the other Astro, however.

My brain gave out just trying to come up with that, but it certainly narrows down the time-frame in which it occurred.

I'm on the edge of my seat.

Yes it was. Gonzo was plunked by Greg McMichael of the steM in 1997 for the Astros first ever game winning HBP.

Ah. That's it.

It's nice to know my "little grey cells" still at least have some degree of reliability.

no, mihoba--i coached Rabbit in LL. we called him Bunny in his younger days. he had a good swing but constantly hit balls right at fielders. i remember it like it was yesterday. i said "Dadgum it--hit the ball where no one is standing." he said (not being a very good student) "You mean where they ain't?"

the rest is history. you can look it up.
Often wrong, but never in doubt.

It'll be interesting if Bidge gets the 5 HBP he needs to tie Hughie Jennings or the 6 to pass him.

I'm hoping for #288 to happen on the same day as #3,000.

That's freakish looking at Hughie Jenning's HBP numbers.  51 in 1896, 46 and 1897, and 46 and 1898.  He was getting hit about once every 10 plate appearances!
