Brad Ausmus, Eric Munson

Pitchers love Ausmus because of his vast knowledge of hitters and his willingness to let pitchers run their own games. Munson's power will help him as he competes with Humberto Quintero and Hector Gimenez.



Now I'm not sure i'd agree with the munson part but it's nice to see someone other than budgirl, this site and the team giving brad ausmus the credit he deserves.

Added to that, Ausmus is also willing to call every pitch, if that's what makes the pitcher comfortable.

My bet is on Munson going to RR. I've always liked Ausmus. Not the best wing down to second, he calls a great game and is a leader. The Astros have won with him. Nuff said.

I think that can be accomplished just as well from the bench. Seriously, we can't have this guy catching more than 100 games for us this year. The worst everyday offensive player in the modern age of the National League cannot be in the lineup everyday - he just can't.

On the plus side, he does have beautiful eyes.

The addition of Lee and what I think will be a strong year from Scott, plus a healthy Berkman make any offense at C and SS COMPLETLY icing.

And I have to disagree about the eyes I think Brad's ass is his strength.

Uh no it can't.   The other catchers don't have the vast knowledge of hitters ausmus does, or how to guide a young pitcher through a game.    And look who was third, Yadier Molina, a young catcher in the same mold as Ausmus.

And your worst offensive player in the modern era hit one of the biggest homeruns in franchise history to help the astros get to the 2005 World Series.
