Trade for whom, I wonder?  If the idea would be to put Jason Lane back in right field, I'm against it.  Very much against it.  Very very very . . .
blah, blah, blah . . .

Luke Scott is CHEAP and has a HUGE UPSIDE (that sounds weird) he's more of a left fielder than a right fielder, but he should get a long good look this year. And should not be traded. Maybe in a package deal for Cabrera, but that's it.

Concur.  If the Tigers are calling Purp I hope he's talking Bonderman.

I thought I saw something in another post about the Tigers offering Mike Maroth for Scott.
Boom!

Hmm, Scott for a lefty with a history of mediocrity and coming off an elbow injury?

Of course, if that's true and Maroth were the first player offered by the Tigers it likely means he's not the best player they're willing to give up.

I realize he's mostly been mediocre and he had bone chips removed from his elbow last season but do a comparison of his numbers against Suppan.  He's younger, comparable in K's , BB's, hits (1 more per start than Suppan), and ERA.  He's left handed, young, and under club control thru 2008.  Suppan is looking at 10mil/yr.  Maroth 5-7mil for the next 2 yrs combined.  And from what I've seen of Maroth, limited but I've followed him since his 21 loss season, he battles.  Doesn't have great stuff but he keeps you in games, on a decent team.  Those  Detroit teams early in his career were not even close to decent.  For someone unproven like Scott, who's no super prospect at age 29, this is one of those minor deals that may benefit both teams.

"someone good" is the key. I don't think Luke would bring back anything good right now, unless he's packaged with some
young pitching prospects, and they've already lost Hirsh.

Eh...that was just me putting 2 & 2 together.  Tigers are reportedly interested in Scott, Tigers are reportedly open to trading Maroth (and Marcus Thames).

Just speculation as to what the Stros could get for Scott.  Whoever mentioned Bonderman is insane.
You may ask yourself, "How do I work this?"

Insane? Yes, thanks for noticing.  I didn't say they should or would get him just that Purp start there.

Poor choice of words.

I would imagine that any Bonderman conversation would end with the Tigers mentioning Lance Berkman, and then Purp saying "well, moving on...".
