Mets are interested in . . . Wandy???
« on: December 07, 2006, 12:10:29 pm »
The last paragraph of  this story reads:

Quote:

The Mets also showed interest in Houston's Wandy Rodriguez, but the Astros are looking for established starting pitching, not a young outfielder such as Milledge, which will make a match difficult.

Which primarily demonstrates, I think, the sublime and frenzied level of bullshit reporters fling at their computer screens during these meetings.
"Holy shit, Mozart. Get me off this fucking thing."

If the Astros get ANYTHING for Wandy Rodriguez, Tim Purpura should be exectuive of the year.

If they got Lastings Milledge for him, he should guest star on "Heroes".
I believe there ought to be a constitutional amendment outlawing AstroTurf and the designated hitter. I believe in the sweet spot, soft-core pornography, opening your presents Christmas morning rather than Christmas Eve and I believe in long, slow, deep, torture of Bud Selig.

That was in  JDJO's article this morning, too. Also mentioned the Astros were interested in Josh Bard.

The Astros won't trade for Lastings Milledge because he's black and we all know that the Astros are a bunch of necks.

Seriously, if the Astros could get Milledge for Rodriguez, it would be a remarkable deal.

It's not about getting Wandy for the New York Media, it's about having just another chance to mention "Lastings Milledge" in a trade rumor.

Soon, you'll see this in the Post: "Rumor circulating around the Disney Resort is that the Mets are set to acquire the Philly Phantic for... you guessed it... Lastings Milledge".

Maybe the same kind of person whose son, Lucious Pusey, plays linebacker for Eastern Illinois.

So I was listening to WFAN last night and they had a "hot stove league" show with one of the Mets announcers and their guy who covers the Yankees.  A caller asked why there are so many trade rumors about Milledge since the year before, Milledge was absolutely untradeable.  He wanted to know if the Mets had totally lost all confidence in Milledge.  The Mets guy answered that the Mets have mixed feelings about Milledge, they won't let him go for nothing, but they have two outfielders in the minors that they may like more and since they have capable outfielders in the majors for this season, Milledge has become expendable.

The Whore would certainly miss the mole that he's been so attached to all his life. But with Wandy on-board, he could get by with a little herp from his friends.

Well, if we did manage to squeeze Zit onto the roster, he'd need to spend a little time first in Round Rock.

Do you think Barry Zit would work well here? Or would that just be (Kip) Gross?
