That link doesnt work

Josh johnson and scott olsen are pretty close to being untouchable. The stros dont really have anything that could make a trade like that happen with the marlins.

I could see a willy for jacobs type deal going down though

What do you want me to tell you.  I'm not making it up.  It's in this article.  Is this guy chanelling Richard Justice?  Maybe.  But he says that Johnson and Olsen are available and that the Marlins are intersted in Willy T.

I believe there ought to be a constitutional amendment outlawing AstroTurf and the designated hitter. I believe in the sweet spot, soft-core pornography, opening your presents Christmas morning rather than Christmas Eve and I believe in long, slow, deep, torture of Bud Selig.

The Astros have stated publicly that they are committed to keeping Berkman at 1b.  Why would they have any interest in Jacobs?

Also, you really have to question any article that uses the phrase "Then again, the Astros have outfield depth..."

If it helps the team they will put him back in the outfield. Just like they did in 2006 to get lambs bat in the lineup.

Apples and oranges.  You're failing to differentiate between Garner juggling with the 25 guys on his roster, and Purpura (hypothetically) going out an making a move to actively displace Berkman from 1b.

Whether I think it helps the team is irrelevant.  Purpura says they're going to keep Lance at 1b, so speculating about bringing in Mike Jacobs is just farting upwind.

While nothing will surprise me, I think the only way the Marlins end up with Taveras is if Willis ends up in Houston.  Or some really obscure 3-way deal goes on.

It would surprise me more if Willis came to the Astros without them giving up anyone who you would regret losing a lot more than Willy T.
