I really wish Liriano hadn't gotten hurt.  I was really looking forward to the Tigers/Twins ALCS at full strength.

i'm praying for a padres/twins WS.  

if for no other reason it will make Fox shit a brick that they wont get to pimp out either NY team down our f'n throats.

i kinda like the twins anyways, but have a hard time hoping the AL wins.

Like a surprising number of folks, I'm pulling for Padres/Twins WS.  Not only because they're two teams I can tolerate, but because the ratings might be so bad FOX execs would fall from the sky like confetti at a tickertape parade.

I really like the way Oakland, Minnesota, and Detroit have put their teams together.

I dont think the Detroit model, lie in the weeds for 12 years then pounce, should be emulated.  Beane, however, has shown he can put a winning team together without Hudson and Mulder.

I think it's more a case of 8-9 years of cluelessness, followeed by a GM who got their shit together.

Go after tons of young pitching, and find a few mid-range bats to put it all together.
