Who cares?

Last season the Beltran booing was non-stop. It got even worse when he admitted that he heard it.

?I tried to block it out, but I was too close. I couldn?t block it out,? he said. ?But to be honest, I don?t care at all. They can boo me. I just want to concentrate on my game. It?s just hard to block all that noise out.?
The Link

He's saying this this time,

"Maybe this time it's going to be the same," he said of the booing. "Who knows? We'll find out when we get there. They can do whatever they want. I don't pay attention."
The Link

Nor should we.  He's now just another met.  Why should anyone treat him differently? You know, non-stop booing.

I think it is old news.  Plus, Willy has been trying to make webgems so people forget that CB was ever an Astro.

Well, seriously, I'll always have a special place in my ass for Carlos Beltran, but I don't hate him as much as I used to.

When I was convinced that he (and his agent) fucked us around to the point of handcuffing the team and making it impossible on the Astros last year, that was one thing.  When we made the World Series and Carlos failed to make the playoffs, I felt better.

Fuck em.  Boo anyway.

Sure, it's the Mets.  I think we've gotten over it.  He seems to have some lingering issues.  Apparently we still have a video of his and haven't sent it back.  He took all his books that had his name in them.  And I'm pretty sure he took with him all the kitchen stuff he had when he moved in.  I don't think his friends talk to our friends anymore.

What's really weird is that I saw him wandering around our parking garage.

I still get anonymous calls during the night.  I bet it's him.

Because we can't really boo Scott Boras... in public that is.  Beltran was as much involved in the negotiations as was Boras, so he understands it's all business.

So maybe he should stop whining and take his own lead and treat it as part of the business he's in.  Fans boo!  That's what they do.  Go figure.

I could not believe the amount of booing from the casual fans last year in the late July series.  The crowd was abuzz (no pun intended) and there was almost a playoff atmosphere.  Yet the booing didn't seem downright nasty; it almost seemed like people were razzing rather than attacking.

Very odd crowd dynamics at MMPUS...is it the desire to stick it to someone what wakes up the normally distract Astros fans?  I don't know, but I had a good time booing last year, and if I get tickets for this weekend, I'll probably be booing again.

This is a critical series, and if it gets in his head, good.  If not, it's fun anyway.

Whatever.  Fuck that guy.  I've got my Buck Feltran shirt, and I'll wear it to any Stem game I go to.  He's pretty much the only player I'll boo.

Send him a betamax of the 2004 season.  Or he could go to Amazon, and pick up one of the new-fangled DVDs for about 0.000015% of his salary.

Boo away at the Whore.  He fucked us just as hard as Boras.  It's amazing at how soon people forget.
Lighten up, Francis.

There was booing, although it seemed prefunctory compared to last season.  The broadcast scanned the crowd for booers.  My favorite was the 2 pre-teen girls.  The way I remember it they were also eating cotton candy.

And Beltran, who said he felt little pain, said the swelling above the knee made it impossible to bend or straighten the leg normally. He kidded with teammates and reporters before his departure, comparing the immediate aftermath of his crash into the fence to his sickening collision with Mike Cameron last summer.

"Then I didn't know [where] I was," he said. "This time I knew where I was. When I heard the booing, I knew I was in Houston."

No mention that the crowd gave him 3 rounds of applause when he left the field.  And only the first round had a smattering of boos.

The section I sat in was full of goddamn Mets fans too.
