10-3 over Brewers

Happy Birthday to you... you look like a monkey and you smell like one too...

The Brewers worked Roy in the first.  An error and a walk put 2 runners on base.  Sparky threw about 30 pitches.  But after that he sizzled until the 7th.

Luke Scott put the tally on the board in the 2nd.  He put a charge in a 1-1 fastball.  In the 3rd, the broadcast put a list of people with b-days today, Rebecca DeMornay,... Inges, Brownie says, "they lost us..." JD real quick, "he's a painter".  Why you gotta be such a geek Bill?  "Go to school, go learn something".

Lamb, at 3d, after the error in the 1st made some good plays, esp. in the 4th, knocking a ball down and then making a barehanded play on a roller.

But big help came in the bottom of the 6th in the form of a 2 run homer from Biggio.  He loves Houston.

Spotted to a 3 run lead, Sparky got aggressive and a little sloppy with the fastball.  3 doubles and a sac fly tied the score at 3.  Top the 7th, there's your Oswalt Inning.

The Astros loaded the bases with one out in the bottom of the 7th.  Palmeiro, pinch hitting, dropped a bloop behind 3rd, but Kevin Mench was perfectly placed to cut off the scoring chance.

Q blew through the 8th, recording 2 Ks to keep it tied.

Then came the bottom of the 8th.  The Astros scored 7 runs off Kolb before an out was recorded.  The inning was highlighted by a double off the base of the Crawford Wall by Huff, Biggio ran around from 2nd and beat an excellent relay throw.  Everett lined a single up the middle for his 50th RBI and, of course, Jason Lane's grand slam.  Willy Taveras, who was hitless in the game, 2 HBP (someone must pay) came up for the last time in the game and couldn't catch up to Turnbow's fastballs.

Wandy threw his bullpen in the 9th and showed a real good touch on his curve.
