That's all.
Another trenchant comment by a jealous lesser intellect.

Does it stink, or is there just a lot of parity? Everybody seems to assume the teams all suck. It could be that the teams are just evenly matched. Or a combination of both.

2 weak thoughts point to stinkitude:  The interleague schedule (relatively small sample size) and the obvious fact that the Astros (and a bunch of other teams)are only a few games off the WC and we *know* how poorly the Astros have been playing for a long time.

However poorly the Astros have played, it's still the case that parity would produce a lot of mediocre records. The interleague results are another matter, but as you point out, they constitute just a fraction of the schedule.

There is parity.  Every team is equally bad.

The Mets appear to be the best team in the league -- and Glavine may be done for the season and Pedro is on the DL.
Boom!

They can have guys who don't play defense.
DS Andy Wainwright: You do know there are more guns in the country than there are in the city.
DS Andy Cartwright: Everyone and their mums is packin' round here!
Nicholas Angel: Like who?
DS Andy Wainwright: Farmers.
Nicholas Angel: Who else?
DS Andy Cartwright: Farmers' mums.
